Whenever somebody mentions you own a Porsche you try to act like it's no big deal, even though you're grinning on the inside

.. and you try to go with it without having to mention the year...

"so what kind of car do you drive?"
Oh its a Porsche *trying to look nonchalant*
"You drive a PORSCHE?! wow...what model?"
a 944
"What year?"
Uhm...*whisper* '85...
"oh."

*girl gets up and talks to the guy with the brand new Z-car*

Yea, I have this problem. Is there a fix? lol

And yes, I do tell people I own a Porsche. They don't ask the model first, it's ALWAYS the year. That normally gets me.

...if you are the kind of person that does not mind knowing every bolt type, torque spec, and thread pitch on the car.
...if you just want FR Porsche.

talk to sharky here on rennlist...I am pretty sure his company is called rennspeed racing and he makes some nice hatch pins that, along with some good ol'-fashioned adjustment, are supposed to make that hatch release thing work better or at least not give you tetanus when you bump your head on them.

I have been meaning to buy some. I have his hood pin and it's top notch. I just don't see how any kind of adjustment would help. I'll give it a shot. Even if it doesn't do the trick, they still look awesome!

People stare at me weird when I say "pull up on the hatch" and I pop it from inside. lol

Opening the manual sunroof while driving is a piece of cake, just as long as you're not on the freeway..

For lack of cupholders..

You somehow master shifting and steering at the same time using one hand because your other hand is holding your drink

The space between your seat and the door gets have more of your drink than you do

Your friend is used to receiving compliments about what a good cupholder she is

You rest your king sized Sprite on top of the center console lid when you get out of the car only to knock it over when you get back in

You know you have a 944 if during your first few days of ownership you have done the approved Porsche exit technique which involves opening your door, trying to slip out of the drivers seat and finding yourself face flat on the ground

65mph is somewhere between 70 and 90.

Your car has the coolest sounding 4 cylinder around..

After a week or two of driving your car you get into your truck and feel like you're driving a small mountain

Went to the dealer today and the 911s and Boxsters and Caymans still make you kiss the ground...but DAMN the Cayenne has HUGE legroom in the front seats...pretty good in back with an average size driver.

when someone honks at you 3 seconds after the light turns green because the shifter binds up, then drives by glaring at you like you actually did something.

When you pass another 944 on the road, you both pull over to talk about cars and to schedule a drive.

You have a to do list that is a mile long, and you'll never get to the bottom of it (of course, this could be applied to any car crazy individual).

...you spend more time on Rennlist typing on your keyboard about it than actually driving it.
