^^

I carry my jack and jack stands with me, as well as a ratchet set, a metric wrench set, and my entire toolbox in my spare tire well.

You're driving at freeway speed and somehow it still feels like your car is idling..

....to save face when can't get your 2 cycle Lawn Boy mower to run, you remind your neighbors that you CAN diagnose and fix a Porsche!

....tell people you bought it for its great gas mileage and rattle off the EPA #'s

You know you're a 944 owner if ...

... you brag to your buddies about how far you drive on the highway without your hands on your lap rather than on the wheel

... you wouldn't dream of hitting the highway without a full toolkit in the trunk

... you actually have gloves in the glove compartment (they're vinyl and you have about ten pairs)

... your friends wonder why you have an air compressor in the car

... you're incapable of loving the car just the way it is because there's just always gonna be something more to mess with!

... your mental image of your car's previous owner is of someone who needs a severe pounding for making your life so damn difficult

... you're absolutely convinced your car will be worth tens of thousands of dollars one day

... your hurriedly post on Rennlist the moment you hear a new or different sound emanating from your engine bay

Also:

... you overhear someone saying their car has power windows, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, fuel injection and much more, and you say, "yeah, but mine had all that twenty years ago!"

After you spend all day washing and waxing, vacuming and detailing, spraying and wiping, you take a step back and look at her at a distance, and still think:

"Oh man! That's MY Porsche!" With the biggest grin all over your face!

...you say, "no, that's not my PORCH. If you want to see that, you have to come to my HOM."

...you see a late 70s 911 Targa and just shake your head

... your mental image of your car's previous owner is of someone who needs a severe pounding for making your life so damn difficult
... and the guy I bought it from just moved in three houses down from me. I found out that he won't talk to me if I just glare from a distance.

yeah, what you said! (especially that David + David stuff. That stupid song was going through my head every day for a week after I bought my car).

you max out your credit cards in car parts lol.

your neighbours think you're crazy as you're constantly wrenching under the car and the car leaves the jackstands for a few weeks then it's back on the jackstands for another few months.

lol the parts guy at the porsche dealer laughs when I phone him, more parts?

you have nightmares about parts breaking.

You cant listen to certain cd's because when your not listening to the music some of the song intros sound like parts bearking and you pull over!

you go to work on your fiance'es car but cant figure out how to open the hood because the latch isnt laying under the clutch pedal.

You fear speed bumps, not because of how low you are but because you just put in another sway bar bushing but havent fixed the power steering leak yet.

after 2 people this week asked me how I got my wankel/rotory motor to sound like that I figured out what my custom plates will be..... NOTRX7

my diveway into my garage is at an angle so I dont have to jack up the car if I need under the front or rear. my neighbors know if Im adjusting my shifter or rechecking my belts depending on which way I pull in!

You use the ashtray to hold all the loose screws you find while in the car, knowing that one day you'll get around to finding all the holes they go back into.

Before every DE, you tighten up the screws on the passenger side arm rest, so your instructor doesn't have it come off in turn one.

At the same time, you find out where a couple of those loose screws in the ashtray go.

This one's for every Porsche owner...
Yes I ressurected this thread because it rocks.

You should see the look on your face whenver Rennlist goes down
and
You spend equal amounts of time on Rennlist and driving your car.

you might own a 944 if...

-your mapping out new windy roads daily to take to and form work.
-$50 for an oil change is normal
-filling up at the gas station from almost empty is a morning event
-choosing the car over a girl is a no-brainer

(awesome thread!)
