You said you were mounting the subs themselves on a piece of glass? If you get a thick sheet of lexan, you could use that as the piece to mount your subs in and be the top of the box. Or were you talking about something else?

already on top of it. The box will be able to be removed to access the bulbs.

Ah, that makes much more sense. I was wondering why you wanted a clear sub box that was going to be hidden under carpet... lol

woke up at noon today ( yay for summer break) so i didnt do too much.

I decided to use my better judgement and go for a solid foundation...

This

Though functional, looks liek ***.
So i replaced it with

It clears perfectly and folds down like butta.

I'll get started on the front tomorrow or monday.

It has come to my attention that the amps i intended on using were too big so it seems i now need new amps, yay

It would be cool if you could install all the electronics on the board and then recover it in the leather to keep it looking good, as long as the electronics were still accessable. Maybe something like velcro would work...?

What I meant was something like installing the amps and subs on the board like you have, and then stacking foam around them and putting the leather cover back on. From the outside it would look like you have normal rear seats.

You could attack the leather cover with velcro over the top and bottom, and be able to easily access the "electronics".

I don't know what the foam would do for acoustics, though.

Cut up what is left of the rear seat so that you only have the shoulder bolsters in leather, and then have the amps openly mounted inbetween the shoulder bolsters where the flat part of the leather used to be.

Hey I like what your doing. I tired to do that awhile ago, the problem was I couldn’t get the top plate to seal to the car very good so I just built a top plate and a box underneath.
