Help Make Our 944 a Winner at "24 Hours of Lemons"
We are Team Santa Cruz, and we are entering a 1985 1/2 Porsche 944 in the "24 Hours of Lemons" road race at Altamont speedway in Northern California.
This race consists of over 90 cars that have been purchased and prepped for less than $500 not including safety equiptment. I.E. roll bar, brakes, tires, helmets, race suits, etc. The race is on July 7th and 8th and is a total of 13 hours.
We would love it if everyone showed up to cheer us on.
Our car is painted in the theme of the BMW "art cars" of the 70's and a large ammount of all donations are going towards E.A. Hall Middle School in Watsonville, CA. This school doesn't have an art program, so we are donating money so that they can paint a mural at the school.
Our car is being sponsored by Rennlist, and we are acceping any, and all donations for our car and E.A Hall Middle School. We still need a roll cage, 2 sets of tires, race suits for 6 drivers, helmets, and more.
If you have a business and would like to be represented on our car, we have sponsorship packets that we can send to you. Just email us at teamsc944@yahoo.com
Donations from the Rennlist community for a Rennlist Sponsorship can be made to our paypal account: teamsc944@yahoo.com
or sent to:
Team Santa Cruz
325 Pennsylvania Ave.
Santa Cruz, CA 95062

No spare wheel for the race. We have a set of phone dials, and a set of fuchs. We will be putting fresh tires on both sets of tires, after we get some money from our sponsors.......

We still have some space left for sponsorship on the race car. If you have a business and would like to advertise on our car, let me know. We are making some good progress on the car. The interior is fully stripped, and we ordered a 6 point autopower roll cage yesterday. Remember the race is July 7th and 8th, and we would love to see everyone there.

Anyone want to do the same thing for the Detroit race?
http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/events/detroit/
I want to put in an entry, but need at least 2 more drivers.
PS. Where did you find a 944 for under $500? I was thinking I'd probably have to go with a 924...
Edit, Looking at prices, I don't even see doing a 924 for under $500. How the hell are you doing a 944?

Got a salvaged 944 for the price the insurance company claimed it was worth. The car runs perfect, and has konis all around, so we are pretty excited to say the least.
