Pictures of the Team Santa Cruz car in it's new livery and also Team Fish out of Water's entry are at http://944spec.org
Both cars were looking good yesterday.

Good work this weekend guys. I was across the pit lane in the red talon (and the bimmercamino).
Definitely impressed with the 944s and I heard more than a few people mentioning that as well (I never had doubts). Where did you guys finish?

Check out this video we put together last night using 4 of our 20-30 tapes from the race. The 535i pickup truck is in it. Eagle Talon is a good choice, is it awd?

Yup, AWD turbo with an LSD out back. It was fast as heck, but we had shift mechanism trouble that led to an overnight/morning clutch change keeping us off the track too long. Saturday was driven entirely in 3rd gear (bogggggg!) and Sunday we were stuck in 2nd, which was much quicker, but rev/speed limited pretty early on the banked turns. We had a really good lap:runtime ratio, but obviously that doesn't matter as much as total laps. Fastest lap was a 51.205 with me behind the wheel, and I'm not much of a driver. That was also at a measly 10 psi of boost.
We're gonna repair it for another go. Thunderhill is too soon, we'll probably do the first CA event in '08. With ~15 psi and 5 forward gears, I think we'd be pretty competitive.
I'm working on my photos from the race and have to sift through an onboard video of the first 20 minutes of the race to see if there's anything interesting. I'll throw some up here once they're ready.

This was a really fun race but also stressful as there were so many cars out on the track at once.
Great meeting the Santa Cruz guys. If they didn't have minor issues with their car, they would have been a top contender. They were very fast out there.
Our strategy was to stay clean and hopefully finish the race. About 1:15 minutes before the end of the race, we had a mishap and had to change out the complete right front suspension and straighten out the tie rod. Took about an hour for the repairs and we got back out to finish the race. We were in 23rd place before the incident but still managed to finish 32nd overall. Not bad for our first time out with a completely stock 1985 Porsche 944.
Our car was 100% stock and it didn't even have a rear sway bar. The tires we were using were not even sticky tires. We had a set of Kumho's performance tires with a 320 treadwear rating that we started off the race with, then switched to some old hard Falken Azenis RT-215's and then back to Falken ZE-512 all season tires in the size 215/60/15. Even with these tires, we managed to get a decent 55.120 lap.
Hopefully next year we can get this car back out and do a little more mods to the suspension and tires and be more competitive.

Nice meeting you guys too. We knew what to expect, so it wasn't that stressful for us even though our car had computer problems and ended up out of the race for hours. Our Yokohama es100s worked really well, and we didn't have to change a single tire. We had a 51.7 lap time, but probably could have done a little better. When our car was running it was fast as hell and we felt like we could compete with anyone on the track, but it's a marathon, not a sprint, and we finished 43rd one place better than last year.
We are going to be putting together a lot more video stuff, so I'll try and make a highlight reel of fish out of water, the talon and the bmwcamino for you guys. We will be at thunderhill, and hopefully everyone for now on so see you guys there.
