Exclamation My 1983 944 is now FOR SALE! (56k beware!)

My 1983 guards red 944 is now for sale. The odometer reads 57,000 miles and it looks like it. It has 16" fuchs which are OE and in great condition. The car was originally leased from 1983- 1985 in Oklahoma and is now in Napa Valley, California. It is in amazing cosmetic and mechanic condition. The car pulls strong all the way up to the redline with no problems. This accident free car has been garaged for the two years I've owned it. The old owner is a mechanic and a local shop. He purchased the car from his boss so this 944 has recieved plenty of attention. I have thousands in receipts. Carfax available upon request. I'm selling because I'm updating to a 951 and the sooner I sell this the sooner I can pay off my 951.

FACTORY OPTIONS:
158- Blaupunkt Reno (gone)
395- 16" forged alloy wheels
423-cassette container and coin box
425-rear window wiper
455-wheel locks
456-sport shocker and stabilizers
533-alarm system

NEW/ REPLACED PARTS:
-The timing belt (belt, tensioners, idlers) were all done about 2,500 miles ago in 2004.
-new radiator (2003)
- clutch (2004)
-termostat (2004)
-reference & speed sensors (2006)
-coolant hoses (2005)
-headlight switch/relay/boot
-oxygen sensor
-sunroof hinges
-fuses
-hand brake
-battery
-Bosch wiper blades
-AC compressor bearing (2005)
-windshield
-intake boot
-door handle and lock seals.
-billet aluminum door locks and hand brake cover
-Hella H4 headlights
-GT Grant steering wheel
-Bilstein shocks
-K&N stock filter
-Blaupunkt Pasadena(optional)
-infinity speakers in stock locations
-Recaro sport seats from a 930
-cup holders
-updated throttle cam
-windshield decal
-Stainless steel door sills.

UPDATES
-red cam housing
-polished intake manifold
-red rear turn signals
-red brake calipers and center wheel cap emblems.

The tires are Yokohoma and in good condition . The CV joints and transmission were all in good condition according to my mechanic (who is the previous owner.) The car has the original manual, roof cover, spare tire, and tool kit.

The only things the car needs to make it perfect are:
-carpet (just hatch or all)
-rear seats need to be replaced or recovered
-AC needs to be recharged because I chose not to refill when worked on AC compressor

$4,900

5 Grand is a bargain - that's the cleanest Early 944 I've seen in quite a while.

Best of luck Keith! Be patient and you'll get the 5500.

Jesse, Sorry I didnt get to meet you- I worked my butt off in Norfolk!

Dude!

If you'd just posted that before I spent 5 grand at my mechanics.

I know red ones aren't as fast as black ones, but that just looks so nice.

With the grand or so I would have saved on interior stuff, and selling the black one for $500 or so I would have been way ahead, be driving it now, and had a cross country road trip under my belt.

I found an amazing guards/black 86 951. The owner is a active PCA member who also has a 930 and to 944 racecars. He also has a fixer upper 84 944. I'm hoping to get his 951 but if that doesn't work out the is also a gorgeous blue 87 951 about an hour away.

Yellowline, thanks again. It works great now!

I'm digging the fuzzy dice, nice touch.

Really sharp early 944 I agree.

Good luck with the sale.

That car shows many signs of having been well treated throughout its lift. I agree with everyone here, that car is worth your asking (more really, but the market seems overloaded).

Get used to that. A lot of people will email or call you and setup a time to see the car, but never actually show up.

Beautiful car though. I'm just glad your not in LA, otherwise you would put my 944 I'm selling to shame in comparision.
