Damn.

Anyone know if I could take the cruise control out of my early 85 and what all I would need? I'm guessing it'd be a pain the the ***.

Adding cruise is easy, if your car is of a year that offered cruise. My old early 85 didn't have cruise, but I saw all the wiring for it and mounting for the equipment.

Keith, have you tried ebay, as a last resort?

Well one of the "serious" buyers chickened out and said he wanted an 85.5+ and the guy with the caddy guys car won't start for people to test drive it.

Man, I'm getting really impatient. I've had about 20 people call or email to set up a time to see the car and only 3 have shown up. The car will go on autotrader or cars.com tomorrow evening if a different guy doesn't show up tomorrow.

I'd really prefer to sell to a rennlist member so $4,600 to one of you guys. I am not going any lower.

I will not put the car on ebay (i hope)

Your car is beautiful. I don't think I've seen a nicer early NA. $4600 is more than fair. I'm sure the only reason RLers aren't buying it is because no RLers are looking for a 944, or they're all broke.

You would get $4600 on ebay for sure, methinks. Remember the 944 market sucks and the whole car market in general sucks right now because winter is coming, people don't want red sports cars, and people are starting to save up for christmas.

Beautiful '83, Keith!

Try to hold out a bit more for a real enthusiast who will appreciate how special your car is. Keep in mind that only 5,506 MY1983 cars were shipped to North America out of a total production run of 14,633.

The beauty of these cars is their utter simplicity for a 1980s car. The all-manual, power-nothing-but-the-brakes setup gives these cars a "go-kart" feel that is unique in the entire 944 line. Even the sunroof is manual.

Conversely, the 1984 cars are much more plentiful, with a whopping 16,618 cars imported to North America, out of a total production of 26,539.

In other words, your car is a relatively RARE Porsche. Somebody out there (like myself, if I were back in the U.S.) who likes 944 cars just might appreciate that.

Good luck with the sale!

Well, I'm the new owner of an 86 951. I will post a tread about it tomorrow evening after a good wash/wax. The 83 might be going to a new home tonight.
