If that is original paint I am amazed. You know a red car has been babied if the paint is in that kind of shape after 23 years.....

Just got back in town from Whiskeytown lake just north of Redding and the 944 is still up for sale.

So far two BSers, one "I'll give you half now, rest later." Now listed in a few local newspapers.

My favorite are people who email or call to setup a time to see the car, then never follow through or show up.

Man, the deadbeats are driving me nuts. I hate it when I am forced to keep my schedule clear because someone who said they WILL come by to look, MIGHT MAYBE come by to look. And they never show, and my day is wasted.

Mine is still for sale as well, but at least now the sunroof is working! Good luck to both of us.

You coming on the run this Saturday? Short notice I guess, if you haven't seen the thread, but if you can't make it, then you have no excuse for the next run on 9/9. That ones up in Napa, so you really have no way out! If you should be fortunate enough to have sold the 944 by then, you can bring your 740iL...

Dude, a car like that, I don't understand why nobody's bought it yet. I hate to say it, but if you need to have it gone, you might have to lower your price to get more people considering. I had to drop my price by $500 to sell it.

If you're in no rush, then never mind.

My red 84 is in virtually the same shape. I have a turbo valance and a black leather interior (sport seats too.) My 15x7 15x8 fuchs have polished lips and black centers...I like the red crest I may have to copy that, but the rest of it is identical. I wouldn't sell it for a dime less then $5K...only problem would be selling at at $5K

It amazes me that such a fine car is hard to sell. I wish I had:

a) The garage space, and,

b) $5K that my wife would not mind me spending...

Arash,
I've had a ton of people call and email but they all chicken out. Only one person has actually showed up and he had to get rid of his mustang first. Then it got worse, he asked if I'd trade him. That was an obvious answer. I think I'll lower the craigslist price since that is were all of these lookers are coming from. I would like to sell it pretty so because the owner of the 951 has been holding it for me for six months.

Mike,
When I got my car the wheel crests were an orange color which I figured was faded red so I picked up some guards red testors paint and bam! Big improvement. I think that there is just no market for our nice 944s these days. The lookers would see one for half the price in the same area and figure they could do all the work that it needed. You probably have a been chance that me because you have that black interior.

WizPorsche944,
The 92 Diablo is my neighbor's. He has had a number of exotics including a Ferrari 456, Lotus Esprit, and a Dodge Viper. He is now working on a Murcielago.

God. If my insurance will give me enough for my 944 or close enough I'll be on the next plane out. :-)

Springfield MO. Does it have cruise cause it'd be a long drive back w/o it? Either that or I'd have to grab a trailer and come out with the 4runner.
