I was actually thinking about putting an ad is San diego and LA craigslist but I don't think anyone wants to drive that far just to see my car. I've noticed that this: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/car/188832292.html car is listed all over CA.

Beautiful car though. I'm just glad your not in LA, otherwise you would put my 944 I'm selling to shame in comparision.
I get the deadbeat appointments all the time.

PCA 944 - I'm trying to sell my 944, and the only nicer 944 out in the bay area market right now is Keith's. THANKS.

Dude, I had that same brown/tan interior, I converted it to black/tan, but seeing that brown brings back memories. I hate brown, but being in such good condition, I can't deny it looks good.

I would post in OC, LA, IE and San Diego craigslist sites. If I were looking for a 944 I would certainly drive up for yours (I'm in OC). I might be partial, having grown up in the Bay Area, but still...

Posting around is a good way to get more visibility. Listings, like the one above, which are posted in more then 3 craigslist start to verge on spam. As long as you keep the posting within a reasonable distance from the actual car, there shouldn't be a problem.

I was thinking about converting the brown to black but I really never got serious about it. I saw your ad on craigs' and it really looks great.

I guess I'll list in some southern california areas later.

That looks to be in very similar condition to my old car, and i got 5500 for it. Just wait for the right person. Beatiful car.

Autotrader (called something else for cars >85 I believe), Craiglist and maybe Pelican Parts.

Other then that you should just take ads on newspapers local to you. For a car such as yours, ebay might be worth a shot with a buy it now price of 5.5k.

The trick to selling a 944 is just to wait for the buyer to come to you.

Mine are all hazed up. Your car is older and has clearer fog lights... I'm ashamed of myself.

PCA 944, thanks for all your help. I listed my car on the san diego craigslist site. It wouldn't let me list it more than twice.

The trick to listing many craigslist postings is to make many small variations in your title, posting, and email address. This is why I have 3 email addresses... So change a few sentences around, change and word or two in the titles and that should fool craigslist - you might be able to use the same email by doing this but I don't know for sure.

Converting the interior is definitely not a weekend project, and finding a black dash as nice as your brown one would be next to impossible. Looks good the way it is anyway. My interior was trashed when I got it.

I hope your patient. A 944 doesn't sell very quickly, you have to wait for the right buyer.

I saw your ad on craigslist. You need to talk up the car rather then having
"16 inch fuchs which are most likely not original" as your second sentence. Check out my post (click on 1986 944 in my sig) for an example of how I setup my ad.

With a car as clean as yours, the photos will catch peoples eyes, but you need a better description to get some offers.
