I'm kinda lost here... Dan when are/where tech inspection forms due? I've been out of the loop due to work. I still don't know if i'm going to be able to be there or participate friday.

If I can get off work thurs-fri (like i'm supposed to have off), I plan on heading out thurs afternoon.

If I can't get off work, i'll be there later friday night.

The tech forms were due last weekend. However, if anyone has any issues with their car they are sorting out last minute, that will cause the tech foms to not be complete until right before the event, and we'll still accept them.

Wes, I understand the predicament. Let me know when you find out for sure, and get there when you can. OK?

Dan, I can't make it Thrusday because I am taking a test for a job that night that starts at 6pm. The test is 3 hours long so even if I left from there to come up, it would still be in the 10pm range. I'll just be there first thing Friday morning to check the track out and set up.

UPDATE! I've secured most of the food for the weekend, at least the hard parts. Friday AM, Joe the on track caterer (he has a big grilll, a food service trailer and knows the track crowd) will be open vending breakfast food, such as coffee, juice, and breakfast sandwiches. We'll have a stack of Pizzas delivered for lunch Friday. Friday evening we'll be grilling dogs and burgers. Nothing fancy there.
Sat AM, once again Joe will have coffee, juice, munchies available. Saturday afternoon you will all be out and about for lunch. Saturday evening, Joe will be catering a steak dinner for us all, compliments of Lindsey racing.

Financial UPDATE: OK folks, I want you all to be aware of something. I'M NOT MAKING A PENNY FROM ALL OF THIS! All of your admission fees and sponsor's $$ went a long way to covering it, but I missed a couple of critical figures (the track insurnace bill just came-$1400 ) and the budget for the event is in the red. Come showtime, I'll probably have a few goodies to sell to help balance the scales. Donations above and beyond the admission fees are ALWAYS welcome!

Suggesting an extra $10-15 from those attending that are willing to pay it seems like an O-K thing in this situation. Like you said, you're not doing this for profit, its all volunteer. Under no circumstance should the volunteer organizer have to cover big portions of the bill out of his own pocket.

Thanks, Dan. (do you want some dyno time?) When ya'll are having the time of your life (and you very well could) remember the host. Someone asked that I publish a "schedule". How's this-

Thurs eve. 5pm - close Arrive, set up, meet and greet. Bonfire? Beer? Probably.
Friday AM, wake up, clean up. Driver's meeting 8:30 AM. track is hot from 9 to 5, with a lunch break sometime. (Pizza)
Back Street dyno churning from 12-8.
When the track shuts down we'll fire up the grill and cook burgers, hot dogs and casual grub. If you wany to bring your own grillin's, now is the time to roast them up. Side dishes welcome. Bonfire, Kegs, bench racing, campfire singalongs. Tech sessions? we'll see what breaks and play it by ear.

Sat AM, wake up and see what showed up for the Allegheny DE. S/Shower/Shave. I'll send off the Gimmick Rally near 11am, with cars sneaking out over a :30 minute window. Back by 2 or 3, lined up and shiny for some judging. Vote tabulations, contest scoring. Catered steak dinner at 6, prizes and raffle afterwards. For those with any energy left, more bonfire, casual chat and closing social event.

Good enough?

Dan,
Found out today that its sounding like i'm going to get at least friday off, i should have thursday off as well.

Still unsure of the track, most likely have to back out. (All I ask is for a ride with someone lol) The car needs a few things tweaked and i'm running out of time. Family is gonna be here this weekend and who knows how late i'll end up working the rest of this week and next.

I'd say yes, but it couldn't be that interesting to see what a pretty much stock non-turbo will twist the drum at. And I don't have anything that adjusts, so it'd just be for pulls, not tuning.

Sorry-I saw the 2.7 L K27/8 in the sig and thought you'd have that at the show.
I understand completely!

Default Instructors, I need your help!!!!!!!!!!

I need someone to conduct the classroom session Friday morning at 944fest for the rookies. I am looking for someone with experience in "chalk talk" (PCA preferred) and recent experience at Nelson Ledges.

If you can help me out, you will receive a cold beer for your effort.

Please email me with a phone number and a good contact time.

Thanks,
