Very nice to have though even if a bit pricey.

The two items below were for sale about a year ago if I remember correctly, not sure what they sold for.

Hi Paul. Did you get a chance to take a close up pic and confirm dimensions of the Porsche Crest on your Recaro seat. I now have both my Recaros about to go in for recovering. Many thanks Paul

Hello all,

it looks like my original SA turbo cup car may be on it's way to a new owner in Germany. It will be sadly missed but as I can't drive it due to a previous accident it is the right think to let it go to a good new home were it can be enjoyed and appreciated.

I potentially have 2 extra sets of original turbo cup wheels that were not part of the above deal so if any one is looking for original turbo cup wheels send me a message. They are in South- Africa but my German buyer says he would be happy for me to put them in the car when shipped and buyer could collect from him which could suit European buyers.

That's the car that sold at auction for $79K from the Drendel collection. And it's a 1986, too. (They had many less mods from the factory...)

I saw this this morning too. As the rare ones start to get into the stratosphere, so go the average ones behind. These cars are getting ready to really get expensive and collectable quick. Hold on to your cars fellas, they are going up up up.

Hello

I recently bought a video from the 1986 cup season : 12 minutes of great action shots etc !
Posted a part of it on youtube :

Check out the differences from the 1986 cars with later cars :
- Fuchs wheels
- no fibreglas fronthood
- no front strutbrace
- no towhooks
- no extra meters in the dash (where radio should be)
- different form of rollcage in reartrunk
- different style Recaro seat

Enjoy !

Cool video. Thanks for sharing. The 944 platform is still a blast to race almost 30 years later.

I heard Sloan sold #11 for near the asking price ($95-100k), anyone able to confirm this?

One of the '86 Escorts is for sale in the last Pano for $45k, and one of the '88 Canadian Rothmans is listed on Pelican for $85k.

One of the two US non-turbo 1987 cup cars is listed in the new Pano classified, low miles, great price.

What was the asking price? I'm having the engine rebuilt on my 86 Rothmans; afterwards, I'll be putting the car on the market.

I don't have it with me, I think about 30K, possibly way underpriced, although historically the normally aspirated cars have been harder to sell than the turbos. I think someone got a GREAT deal on a factory-built race car!

I've seen mention of lightweight battery as part of the Cup Car package ... does anyone have a spec of that battery ... or any pics?

I'm out of town and going by memory, which may be totally wrong, but I think my car has a group 42 battery- not sure if that was the original size or not.

Is that standard 951 size?
