Might be a good price for a beat up track rat, but there's nothing "factory" about it.

This was his reply to me....

"This is a standard 944 Turbo that was raced in the 944 Cup series http://44cup.com/
Not a 951 Cup car (the one with factory magnesium wheels and cage stock)"

I wouldn't touch 26 year old magnesium rims... even if they haven't been raced. Just me...

Im not personally interested in the wheels, just curious who it is selling them.

I have 3 sets of the mag PDs, and I have raced on some as recently as July. I also have sets of magesium centered BBS wheels that I use for racing.

Sure wish more people were scared of them, so there would be more readily available.

Magnesium is just more prone to corrosion than many other metals, if they are not pitted (causing stress points and leading to cracks) they would be fine. Plus they are painted. The surface is the worry, not the internal integrity of magnesium inside, so to speak.

A complete strip, polish (to remove the aforementioned pits and so on if present) and repaint would make me rest easy, and maybe a dye penetrant/UV inspection if one were really paranoid!

Looks like they sold? Lots of dough for phone dials - I'd love those on my car. I love phone dials. (one of about a dozen people, apparently!)

I saw after I posted, thanks.

I'd actually rather have those than a set of expensive aftermarket wheels...

By the way, I love your car, centerpunch. Mine is a "wannabe" version of yours.

Also, do you have some good shots of your interior? (Or any one of these cars).
