We're not more than 15 min from Mid-Ohio. I have 2 mechanics in mind, the two Cleveland area ace techs. I'm not sure which one will be coming, I've got some talking to do. I'm not sure if these guys would come for free to help the customer base or if they will expect $100/hr, and a room. We'll see.

Ok guys, i want in this year! July is a good time because i will be inbetween band events. (the guys are flying to Mexico that week! I should even have CDs of ours to rock ya'll with!)

Anyways, see , i have LONG hair, and ive never been without a blow dryer and adequate facilities.
Now, i am considering sleeping in the hatch, but i must ask, whats gonna be available to us if we do camp out there??

Also, this is a long trip for me, so i would probably come a day before, and leave the day after the fest. Would anyone be willing to hook me up with a place to sleep for the day outside the fest i might be up there?

Hey Kevin, i see you are interested in heading up there too. Maybe we can set something up going DC to Ohio.

This is looking awesome! I can't wait!

EDIT:
Oh yeah, we REALLY SHOULD contact Excellence about this! I bet they would cover it! I mean why not? This many 944s in one place is not something you see everyday!

Hey Dan, if the wrenches you have in mind aren't coming down because they want to be there (or worse yet, charging for their services), forget it... I will do it for free and I am *pretty* sure I can hang with the best of them. With the group of guys that are planning on showing up, we should have enough wrenching experience to handle anything we need, especially if I can talk Karl (aka Doc Wilen) into coming along, he's one of the quickest wrenches I have ever seen.

i will try to bring the 951 but if all fails i will either take another car or fly up there. driving over a 1000 miles is kinda of hard . Hopefully i will have the 951 running in perfect order or someone is going to have to help me tow it back home. if anything i think i will just leave it and sell it to someone near . How much in gas u think it cost to drive that far. and how much money to fly out there? thanks for the help

Talking

Tony, we have the lodge from noon Sat till 5pm Sunday. I'll have a few hotel rooms nearby Fri and Sat nights, showers will be available there. (Heck, I'll probably have at least one, maybe two hotel rooms empty for sleeping in) Where we will be camping we'll have hot and cold running water, access to plumbed restrooms, electrical outlets, and car washing hoses. Depending on your arrival/departure dates, I may be able to help. If you want your own hotel room or want to share one with someone, make reservations NOW. (see other thread about lodging)

Dan, Check travelocity.com for travel options in the tin tube. CLE and CVG are equidistant, you could easily get a ride from either.

Scott, I know you are Superman when it comes to wrenching, but I've got a pro in line, so you can relax and enjoy yourself a bit. As far as I know it won't cost us anything. I'm adding his shop to my sponsor list, they do all the tough work on my car. I don't think he'll be in the tech tent as much, changing trannies and timing belts, he'll be standing near the dyno watching fuel mixtures and offering tech advice to guys with issues and hop up Q's. I'd say he won't be getting too greasy, (that is your job!) he'll be providing consultation. How's that for a division of labor? Plus, you said you would not be as free to dive in the projects, as you would have some other duties . The actually dirty work will still be all yours. Plus, the more the merrier!! (Or the more cooks, the better the broth). I know you are helping me keep an eye on the bottom line (thanks!). I don't think this addition will hurt it at all. The only downside is he wants to bring his Porsche.. a 600+ HP 930. I'll have to find a special parking spot for him..like at the bottom of the pond. (KIDDING!) No prizes for his dyno run!!

Speaking of dyno runs, 5 months from right now we'll be buttoning up the dyno, swapping stories and picking the aluminum shrapnel out of the oily grass. Either that or I'll be sitting in a jail cell next to Chris going "What the F*&% did you go and do THAT for??!!"

Can't friggin wait!!

I don't know what you guys do, but i was thinking maybe somekind of nametags or something wiht your rennlist name, that way people who haven't met anyone can know who they are talking to/walking by!

Just an idea, perhaps they aren't stylish enough for the porsche crowd?

We definately do nametags. There was a time I wanted to do an Avatar AND a name, but it seems that recently avatars change so much there wouldn't be any point to it. Yes, people will have stickers on them with names, handles and nicknames.
