I'm coming back from class, and one of my friends comes up to me and says "Ah! Geoff, just the guy I'm looking for!"
"What's up man?"
"Oh, did you get a note on your car?"
"for what?"
"Some lady backed into you."
"WHAT?! Please tell me you're joking."
"Nope. I think she left a note, but I saw it happen, and I memorized her plate number. I don't think she did any damage, but if ya want the number, I've got it."
"Yeah, please."
"So she got out and looked for damage, got back in her car and it looked like she was going to write a note."
"Thanks man. I owe you a beer."

So, I get to my car, (I had to go to work anyway) and I go out and inspect my car. Sure enough, the driver's tail light is broken, right on the corner under the tail light (on that back panel) there is a dent, and some white paint on my car. I'm pissed, and I light a cigarette. I go around front, and go figure....NO NOTE.

All I know is, I'm going to milk this sh*t for EVERY penny I can. I have witnesses, I think the security cameras caught it (they have a massive system of video cameras in the parking lot since the recent rash of stereo theft moved in), I've got her plate number, and I've even got her paint on my car!

she's goin down...that's ALL I have to say. she f*cked with the wrong Porsche.

I'm gonna leave a note on her car tomorrow that says something like

"Hi. you backed into me yesterday, and you think you got away with it, but ya didn't. So, call me by 10:00 PM, or I'm pressing charges. simple as that." and of course, leave my phone number so she can call.

BTW, dont get your hopes up, here in Orange County FL, I saw a major accident occur 20 ft from me at a redlight , 2 people get transported , highway patrol shows up 4 and 1/2 hours later ... but maybe its different where you live, good luck though!

Depending on how obvious the damage is, is there a chance she missed it. Some women can look at a car and think no damage when it's actually a mess.
My vote is to accept a reasonable sum to fix the car.
It's not right to approach this like you hit the lottery is it.

nj, the tail light is CLEARLY broken. there were plastic shards on the ground. it's not like she could've missed something like that.

I'm not gonna try and get a new paint job out of her (though it would be nice) I'm just gonna make her pay for the damage she inflicted to my car with her careless driving. I think that's only fair, and if I can make her suffer while doing it, Damnit, I'm gonna.
