"I thought I read the 951 had a top of 172?"
Roberto, you're right. A chipped 951 with 7000rpm redline will hit 172mph@7000rpm.
I think Porsche claimed 152mph for the non-S cars. In actuality, they most commonly was tested at 155mph.
The later TurboS cars had a claimed 165mph top-speed, but ended up at 162mph most often. The two actual numbers matched calculated values the closest and the claimed numbers ... well, don't know where they came from. Marketing guys most likely.
To hit 172mph@7000rpm, you'd need 297bhp@7000rpm (about 252rwhp). Due to the dropping torque-curve, this really means about 330-350bhp at the power-peak around 6000rpm. So about 285-300rwhp which is not a stretch for MAF-upgraded 951 cars.
Now a 944NA hitting 152mph??? Good luck buddy...

John, please learn to put periods in. I was referring to you about the elipses :>) No offense, especially not to a local, but it would make reading what you wrote alot easier.

Ironically I have two sisters living in your area, one of whom speaks 5 or 6 languages, I doubt she would have any problem communicating with anyone on this board as she speaks and writes very well. BTW, her husband IS an English teacher.
I'm no genius, I never claimed to be. My spelling is a mess but I use that little 'spell check' button whenever I remember it's there. If your thought is worth typing and posting, isn't to worth doing right? With your attention to detail I doubt you could assemble a motor, there's no way you could get close to 194hp if you forgot to install a wrist pin keeper. What it comes down to is this, if you don't take your communication skills seriously, you can't expect anyone to take you seriously.

AMAF could type better than this joker.
I'm in agreement with a lot that's been said. Let's sum up:
This is a board for owners and enthusiasts that have a varied and vast base of talent for driving/repairing/modifying these cars. If you start posting near-incomprehensible posts about "secret" mods getting you performance gains the constituency here has trouble believing, you will not gain respect until you offer up some tangible proof. Until you do, expect an onslaught of posts telling you to keep the bull**** sessions restrained to your recess periods with the other seventh-graders, unless you like being the butt of a running joke. If, however, that is the case, then by all means, carry on.
FWIW, Beerburner's posts had me rolling. Good show!
(I threw a couple run-on sentences in there to please Matt. Gotta keep my peeps happy!)
BTW, I used to have an acquaintance from South Africa who was fluent in - you guessed it - SWAHILI! Please share with me a tidbit of written Swahili, so I can have him translate it. Do me a favor, and swear at me or something like that. I can't speak the languages, but I can swear in Philipino, Greek, Arabic, and of course German. Teach me something. I dare ya.
