Surgery begins, with a rough cut of the rear trunk floor. Hoping to save the original cross member and splice in along its rear edge.

Cleaner cut, trying to save the flange where the floor and transaxle brace are seamed. Also working on straightening the inner fender (right) and the rear panel.

And working on the front, but not likely to save the front right panel and inner fender. I need to find a used replacement.

Boy, you're doing some major surgery there... I see Restoration Design in your future! Glad you're saving another 914!!

luckily we made all of the rust repair parts years before restoration design bought lansing steel who had all of our tooling that we proceeded to lose because we had nothing in writing. Kills me every time it is mentioned.

Decided to see what's under the black paint on the bumpers. Chrome, yes, but sanded before painted.

Maybe you want to keep it all original, but if I were you I'd fill in the side holes and get rid of those ugly warts!

I am thinking about that. I will see how things go, and how many mods I embrace.

More surgery on the donor clip. This is close to the largest section I might splice in.
