My endless folly that is the leather embossing pattern was partly concluded today with the complete machining of all four plates. In the end changing to the 6mm posts cut the machine time to just 50 minutes per plate. What I learnt today is that I either have to stop going down these rabbit holes and bothering people or get my own CNC at home.

So, the smaller pattern was proven in the press over a small area. This is all unchartered territory here and no idea if the press has enough grunt, the posts are too sharp, machined deep enough of if the pattern will look any good.

Thats a good question. No date yet but once it is on the road I will take it back to Auckland for a while. I've found it quite difficult to do the little things without the car at hand so with it in my garage I will be able to put some good time into the details that I want to see done just right. Critical stage just now with the car largely finished and that last 5% will define the quality of the build. Some things not quite right to my eye just yet but simple fixes nonetheless. Main area of concern is that some of the original external chrome-ware does not sit well with the beautiful paint. The inside is temporary of course because it was only installed for compliance purposes and the interior is going to be 100% gone over so not concerned there.
