He got the skinny and dark skin. I got the fat and the stunning good looks.

He is blind as a bat. I got 20-15.

He has no children. I have more than I can count.

He has an F250. I have an E350.

My brother has woodworking tools in spades. Like beyond the ultimate garage. He's made furniture that look like it is 200 years old.

Where do you think I got the skills to make my toolbox?

Last weekend one of my girls bought a broken coffee table for $8.00 and he put a new top on it with the leftovers from my toolbox.

If you had wood work around the house or on your boat he would be all over it.

(The second photo does not do it justice. I forgot to take an "after" shot)

Picked up some 28mm torsion bars today. I know that's a bit stiff for a street cab, but the price was right.

Pulled everything off and sure enough my bushings were smashed, corroded, and looked to be in serious need of replacement.

Solution? .....Heading back to Einmalig in the morning to swap out all the parts that can be yellow zinced. I'm starting to like having a place to swap parts out.... A LOT!!!

The guy at my local Porsche shop used to do a lot of AX. He said he liked a rear end much stiffer than the front. I put 21 in the front and 30 in the rear based on his suggestion. The ride is stiffer but not bad.

Yep. I think that is the sweet spot, but she's a cab so I gotta go easy on her. I have $600 in my pocket and a 1:00 PM appointment at Einmalig to swap out plated parts. We'll see if that gets her back together.

That's a pretty loose setup, IMO, and would depend on personal preference.

Would you believe I made it out of Einmalig with money in my pocket? Would you believe it was half of what I expected it to be? Would you believe it was less than half of what I expected it to be?

I almost want to keep this a secret it is such a cool deal.

Imagine isle after isle of nuts, bolts, eccentrics, brackets, washers, fittings, mounts, etc., all in yellow zinc just begging for a new home. This is just too good to be true. They let me pull my own parts. I am in heaven. Seriously, have you ever seen a shop full of museum quality cars surrounded by every conceivable part used to build them? They are primarily a service shop, but man, oh man, is it loaded with treasures I can't wait to get my hands on.

Yeah, I hear you. I thought I was in heaven when I chanced upon them and got a bargain on my dashboard. Wish we also have those here in the Northeast where you are allowed inside and drool all over the place. It was fortunate they allowed me to take a lot of pictures but I can't seem to find the rest including all those engines lined up.

That's the place. I've learned to walk around THAT corridor as 911 #400 undergoing a complete restoration and I don't want to be the guy that dings it.

Back by that lift is where all the magic has been happening for me but I've gotten upstairs and way out in the back where they keep all the older longhood body panels and wheels. It's hard to leave and go back to work.

I'm so envious you can go back there any time and you guys at the other coast have a lot of options to choose from. I may have to schedule an official trip again and excuse myself for half a day to go visit that place again.

I just can't wipe the smile off my face.

Can sure think of several projects I'm going to go back and re-do now that I've got access to the goldmine.
