Interior coming together. Will have another update soon discussing the interior, but here are some photos of the dash going back in.

Is that the 'newly available' Porsche dash? And how did it fit?

Nope - my original dash restored

Looking great, as usual. About time you got back in here with an update. 13 days since the last one...not acceptable.

I hear you. More delays with original upholsterer is reason. Ugh. More to come on that soon...

Is the refurb leather? Looks really good, not shiny, soft edges.

One of the great things about these forums are the people. I had a fellow Rennlister reach out to me with a recommendation for an upholsterer. My guy is still backed up on a job that is in over his head. I was not going to wait another month so I ended up reaching out to the guy recommended to me by the Rennlister.

Well, this upholsterer is awesome. Responded right away and is doing the work at my house! No need to trailer the car. The job is now moving along.

Here are some photos of the progress. He has modified my carpet kit a lot to get better fitment - removing the binding, trimming and restitching the binding.

I did go for a pretty spartan look though - so all the chassis moldings show through my RS carpet kit - I went with minimal sound deadening - so you see the lumps and bumps beneath the carpet in some areas. But it is light and should sound great - hey, it’s a hotrod!

I did add sound deadening to the rear area. I went with the lightweight offering from Kilmat. I saw Emory Motorsports was using this stuff so good enough for me!

Kilmat installed.

RS carpet kit going in.

Nice job trimming the carpet to expose the shifter base. Perfectly trimmed - love the look. No rubber boot or carpet covering this.

More photos coming - car is finally not stalled out

Dang, appears to be an outstanding upholstery job. Very impressive. The timeless look of the 5-dial 911 dashboard is second to none, and the view thru the classic steering wheel is poster worthy.

Oh, my. Definitely will have to keep tabs on this. Great color, and the carpet work is outstanding.

Is that a Zuffenhaus RS steering wheel? Looks great. They have been sold out for a while, sadly.

No, it is an original 380mm VDM from an early 914 - same style wheel as used on the RS. I refinished the spokes and Autobahn did the thick leather wrap. I love the look.
