Default I was offered $70k

I was offered $70k for my 78' 911 SC. The offer came from a 40ish guy in a late model 911 turbo who pulled over to talk to me on the street in Chicago. Getting such an offer felt great but it only made me love my car even more, if that is even possible. He liked mine for all the reasons I liked it... early model, no options .. no sunroof. Having a classic 911 rocks!

Wow you must love your car more than anything or you have a special rare low mile original SC to pass on $70K.

I looked for a car like mine for a while, and I have had pricier late model Porsches. I bought this car because I love everything about it. If I sold it for 70k, sure I would make $$ but then what? Nope, I bought this to drive and love and God willing I can enjoy it for many many years to come.

It was the meatball, I'm telling you.

Now you guys know why the BHCC jumped when I threw out $45,000.

I will agree with you that the number decal DOES somehow make the car seem more special, but here in Chicago, people are really going after these cars.

You haven't been in air cooled long enough. There are great cars and rich old men. I was offered a class A motorhome worth far more than my car and he was serious.

You got an offer on your '77/964 look that was 30% more than you paid....some would think that was a crazy offer. Just be glad I didn't show you my engine.
