Default SPEC 996 "New PCA Class for 2011"

It's official. I'm busy getting weight out of the car, and the spec wing is getting painted and goes on next week. Who's in?

Getty Design builds a Spec996 wing that is basically a 55" cup car wing. It weighs a bit more than the cup wing, but costs less.

What are you grinding in that photo?

This is good news for me, as it suggests that there may be ready made spec 996 cars for sale at some point in the future!

Seemed like a good idea at the time.

I was taking out the rear seat brackets. I'm down to the 1lb at a time stage at this point.

I am so in on SPEC 996! From talking to people around Texas I am thinking we are going to have 8 to 10 running PCA just out of Texas next year!

Attached is a copy of the Spec996 rules. I started my build in late December of last year and made three club races in '10. Like MGlobe I'll spend the winter with the sawzall and bolt cutter trying to lose weight.

Wow 2850 WITH driver? Given these parameters and a 190 lb advantage would not the clear choice be a 3.4l car?
