You're so lucky. My car completed production on 5/23, which was only one week later than the original predicted dates I received in November of last year. It got to Emden four days later, but missed getting on a boat by one day. Now it's still sitting there and my delivery date has slipped by nearly two months. Meanwhile, a friend who had his SRS arrive to Emden literally less than one week before mine got on a boat right away and his car is about to be offloaded at Benicia (his local port).
First-world frustrations.
My GT4rs was originally supposed to be delivered this week started production 4/24 still not finished waiting on a part or chip delivery is now scheduled from August - November.... Just frustrating
What can possibly be the reason for that? Any chance you are really on a boat, and the reporting is just lagging?
Doubt it. I think the reason is that I simply missed the ship that was bound for my nearest port by a day or two and the next one was 3-4 weeks behind it. Given that every milestone in TYD probably has a couple of weeks of buffer built into it, my final delivery estimate ballooned by months just from missing a boat by a couple of days.
Thanks for posting. Man I better make the Wolfsburg. Though the car just completed yesterday. What do you think the odds are to make it to Emden in 3 days?
Thank god I finally got the notice last night that my Spyder RS has been completed! Was in production for two full months.
This AM, Porsche sent me the notice regarding final details for European delivery. Will be a long 10 week wait until ED, but at least my car is done and I can start booking my trip!
