Spoke my dealer about updating my build with the LED and he said that my GT4RS build was frozen due to the PTS color so best to leave it alone. I took his advice because I don't want to have the car delayed anymore than it already is.

Try emailing your Porsche Exclusive rep at PCNA to see if they can do it at Werks1 Exclusive post production.

Nah, I'm good I'll leave it be as I don't want to take any chances the car getting bumped out again like it did when I put in my PTS order.

Thank you for this information. Will the housing be black like the current Bi-Xenons are? This is an important decision for us as I really dislike the look of the stock chrome headlights.

It appears that initial information was incorrect. Looking more like it will be a version of the PDLS+ lamp but no one has actually seen a definitive picture of the headlamp yet, not even at a dealer/PCNA level, so no one can confirm for sure. Hoping that changes soon.

Do we all have a Porsche Exclusive rep at PCNA or just RS customers? We have a GT4 about to lock on Nov 3rd.

My SA asked and word is there is no Tequipment retrofit kit planned for the Option 634 headlamps which would help those of us who configured but then lost the PDLS+ Option 602 headlamps due to the camera shortage. Limitations could be wiring or programming or headlamp washers, who knows. But someone managed to put a manual transmission into a 991 GT3 RS so I suppose any thing is possible. Right now just excited to be getting the car.

First, on the GT4RS Porsche only offered as options (1) the very basic headlamp, no 4-point DRLs or (2) the Option 602 PDLS+ headlamp, which is desirable if you like the wider 4-point DRL look and/or the fact that it is blacked out. There was no “in between” option like XEW that was blacked out and had the simpler 4-point DRLs, which by the way remained available on the Cayman GTS 4.0.

Then they drop the Option 602 PDLS+ due to supply issues and leave us with the most basic headlamp. Some may be fine with that, I do understand this is what is on the Clubsport cars, but for me having spec’d the car to the max including Weissach package and magnesium wheels, getting unpainted beer cans for headlamps is a disappointment. I inquired about getting the XEW lamps via CXX, but the answer was “not available”.

It’s great to see Porsche is now offering the 634 option, hopefully it is a revised XEW. Unfortunately my build has locked. I’m hoping I can get these installed after the fact, depending on wiring and programming etc.
I would be interested to hear your result as I have a GT4RS coming with the basic headlamp.

Unfortunately it looks like there won't be an official path to upgrade, per my comment above. Really unfortunate for cars otherwise optioned to the max.

I wonder if the headlights can be taken apart? I would be ok with just pairing the chrome projector housing. Anything to get rid of the chrome.

100% agree, but don't know if it can be done and then what happens to the warranty.

I'll tell you what happens with the warranty. It (the parts associated with the retrofit and possibly even collaterally related items like modules and harnesses) goes bye bye.

Porsche updated the configurator to show that the PDLS LED option looks identical to the PDLS+ option that was removed.
