PDLS+ Availability Discussion
…and your dealer tells you that you’re not getting one of the options you ordered because supply is constrained. Totally first world problem, but I’m so frustrated that I’m not getting exactly the car I want after all this time. No LED headlights (option 602) for this guy’s Spyder…😭

Yeah, it sucks for sure. But couldn't you retrofit them later quite easily? Or at least make a deal with the dealer to eat the cost of the retrofit once those parts do become available? That way you don't have to wait on the car and you get what you want when it becomes available.

Doesn’t look like it’d be easy or cheap.

To me it would be one of the best options to be forced to give up.

same here. I have a September Spyder build that happened today. I’m passed.
on top of not getting the exact car I want, I’m paying $15k ADM too. So insulting.

I reached out to my SA for additional info. I assume the options are now the stock lights at no additional cost vs PDLS at $1500? I wonder if Porsche will just default you to the stock lights if your build locks and you don't specify anything. Seems like a bit of a cluster...

I wonder if adding the PDLS headlights will push the freeze/build/delivery date down the road. I know making changes to your build can unfortunately affect the production timeline in some instances. Obviously all of us in this situation don't want to make a headlight change, but are being forced to.

no biggie, the standard lights are fine. I thought I'd be bothered by the chrome but honestly I don't even see it when I look at the car. If you 'need' PLDS+ to drive at night for the safety of others you probably shouldn't be ripping around in a sports car at night.

Same here. PDLS+ is removed from most if not all 2023s in the build queue at this moment.

I'd be fine with any of the GT4 light options for night driving, it's about the aesthetic for me. Hell, I had halogens on my 2019 Tacoma and did just fine with them.

on the bright side, the standard lights don't include those hideous nipple washers on them
and seriously swap some aftermarket LED light bulbs in if they aren't bright enough for you
