The way you drive it after tuning has nothing to do with how it will perform so there is no need to reload it.

Was but a joke.

Was but a fact...some people that read that would actually believe that would be true.

I have the same question regarding Auto Start/Stop and Cylinder Deactivation. I'm "hoping" that the tune simply disables Auto Start-Stop on ignition, which in turn also disables cylinder deactivation. But if I enable Auto Start/Stop, is cylinder deactivation enabled as well? (as in stock configuration).

For me, I almost never use Auto Start/Stop (hence I disable it as part of my pre-flight routine). The only time I might enable it is on long highway drives to use cylinder deactivation for potential fuel savings (and this is a rare case for me).

I know my first tune (version 1 we'll call it) was tune with *** and CEL disabled. Car was smooth, so smooth that I couldn't tell the cylinder deactivation was happening other than the change in exhaust tone.

Now with this newest version (REV is what he called it) I can't tell at all if the cylinder deactivation is happening. I think it is though.

You may not feel it but you can hear it.

Obvious answer. You're clearly invalidating the engine warranty. Whether you could pretend that you didn't and get away with it is anyone's guess as it's not been tried very often.

the "truth" is "no one knows" - you could argue that this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnus...s_Warranty_Act covers it - but AFIAK no one has ever (public stated) that they have tried...

Larry, I agree so why not simply/officially ask Porsche/PCNA (not the dealer) for their position on flashing the ECU?

you could - but I dont think it will be that easy to find "the right person" to give you a definitive answer (preferably in writing) and in asking you effectively flag yourself accordingly.

I seriously doubt call 1-800-PORSCHE will turn anything up - you'd probably have to go thru your dealer to your PCNA area rep then into the corporate morass

but I "strongly encourage" you (and not me) making that call!

Why does the warranty comment always come up? If you have to ask it’s not for you!
