Very interesting. While I don't have my 718 Spyder yet, on my 981 Spyder there is a very noticeable difference. Of course, after running it a while, it becomes the norm. I flashed back to stock for a dealer visit and the car felt slow and sluggish with the stock map. Back to the tuned map now. I would imagine it would be similar with the 718 unless Porsche already maximized the tuning on that engine.

part of it might be that I am in Ca and running on 91oct ... but I can really not detect *any* noticeable performance differences (apart from the 8.2k and only then by watching the tach) ... I might when I have the time and inclination flash it back to stock and try a back-2-back A$$-o-Meter(tm) comparison

I seem to recall from another thread that someone claimed that the 718 4.0L in the Spyder/GT4 dyno'ed at around 430bhp - so I don't expect more than ~10bhp or so which is barely/not detectable by the A$$-o-Meter(tm)

again YMMV - this is only my opinion/experience

I have the softronic tune on a BGTS4.0. Can attest that Scott delivered the handheld quickly and then sent the tuned file within about 24 hours of me sending the stock one.

More importantly I can definitely say that I feel a difference. I very much enjoyed the GTS before the tune (and fabspeed OAPs), but I absolutely love it now. The pull through 2nd and 3rd is violent at times. I was lucky enough to experience my first track day this past Monday at Palmer Motorsports Park and couldn’t be happier with this car. The only problem with the tune/track time is I’ve now found myself searching the track rat forums and will be going back next month with new wheels/tires and alignment…for now…

I would expect no less, the tune for the GTS (w/395bhp) adding some 35-40bhp would be noticeable - essentially freeing the GTS "de-tune" to GT4/Spyder performance.

From personal experience, A$$-o-Meter feeling is useless when remapping a car -- Must do before dyno, tune the car and after dyno. Better if the tuner is "online", so they can adjust the map and reflash if needed, until the car really shows a gain

Sensitivity from the accelerator pedal doesn't mean the car really gained power

Did he alter the overrev counter windows to accommodate for the extra 200rpm of redline?

Or are you now racking up ignition counts in overrev zone 1+?

I dont disagree; however that's going to be a challenge when I'm in Ca and the tuner is in CT ... my point was that +35-40bhp is detectable by A$$-O-Meter +10 is not... not by mine anyway

p.s I have never been fooled by "tuning products that "tune" the e-gas potentiometer responses...

Easy! Do remote tuning! Make appointment with the tuner, you go to dyno. Do baseline run, upload tune file or let tuner upload it remotely. Dyno again and see changes (gains and sometimes loss, sad, but true!). Let tuner remap again and dyno again until car shows gain

Hello,
Unfortunately its not that simple as every time the car is flashed it wipes out the learned memory. The DFI cars take at least 30 miles of driving to re learn and they start out at a preset low val. Flashing back and forth on a dyno will not show accurate results. Turbos will show a brute force for initial gains yet they still have the same results.

Best,
Scott

Hello,
Your car is in CA yet it was produced in DE. Does CA and CT make a difference? Porsche and Softronic use the same software for the engine performance and neither use a Dyno . The software generates the gains or losses.

Scott

Never take it to the redline anywhere else but perhaps on the track ...
