Default The Softronic Tune Discussion and First Impressions

...since it will not be long until one will be able to flash tune the car without removing the DME. Personally, I do not think that is a big deal since I just went through the process of taking it out and sending it to Scott and him sending it back with the tune, which took 4 days total. Anyway, I just talked to Scott and he is working on the protocol and he is planning to have someone local stop by with a 4.0 car to make sure all works as planned before offering it. It will be tuned via the OBD Port via a handheld/MyGenius, and if he does updates it will be much easier for one to get it and remove it when taking the car to the shop.

By the way, yesterday was the first day I had to play with the car after the tune was loaded and it is well worth the money, especially compared to other tuning options. The tune transformed the car into what I somewhat expected it to be albeit my last P-car was a 2019 Targa GTS with turbos so the tune on that car really made a huge difference where in this case it just made a big difference! When I get more info I will post an update here but of course, anyone is welcome to contact Scott at Softronic if they want the details.

He is also doing the same for the 992, Panamera and Cayenne models.

The tune is great and it was so easy to remove and send in the DME that I really did not care about being able to tune at home, but I realize that many people prefer to do it that way. I noticed the tune's increases soon after installing it but the test was leaving beachside Daytona Beach on the Main St. Bridge. I was there not long ago without the tune and I noticed the lack of oomph going up, but the tune was a cure since the pull now is much stronger - highly recommended.

Agree. I went with ECG Tuning Group and Jag came to my house and is super duper responsive (like within 5 minutes of a text responsive!). His tune was good and gave the desired bump in HP and overall reaction of the engine. I live in CA so we can only get 91 octane at most pumps, but there is a gas station within a couple miles that sells VP Racing 101 octane and I mix in 1 to 4 each time I fill to get to about 93. No problems at all over the past 2 months or about 2,000 miles. Like Bob, I highly recommend getting an ECU tune for this car, whether it be Softronic, M or any other reputable tuner near you.

I am excited to see if the addition of hi-flo cats+ headers will make the tune even that much better.

They did for my car as I am running with the Soul Street Headers (w/high flow cats) and their Resonated Race Exhaust - it now runs as good as it sounds.

Would you say better midrange pull or 6k+ pull?

Both, but best in the midrange.

I stand corrected! Maybe I should see my cardiologist! ECU Tuning Group, ask for Jag.

Someone posted them in a different thread but I cannot recall which one, but you can probably find it by looking in one the tune threads.

Thumbs up

I wanted to let everyone know we are flashing the 718 GT4, Spyder,GTS,992TT and the 992 all by the OBD port. You do NOT have to remove the DME.

Best,
Scott

I did not have a problem getting the DME out, sending it back & forth, etc. but this is as good as it gets - a game changer for many! Nice job Scott!
