Single gear roll ons @ 2000 are meaningless. On track the only time you are at 2k rpm is leaving the pits.

I didn't buy an extended warranty...no point if panels were no longer being produced. I bought a 2nd TV.
I would like to this close out with a couple of thoughts, first on the TV example, a second plasma would have been maybe $2K, buying a second 4.0l engine without a core and have DeMan make into a 4.5l ... I dunno, WAG $60k, not good financial comparison. After my plasma, I said hail to the new king, OLED!

And as we are talking about financials, a Spyder RS will have its greatest 'value' and its rarity with the OEM GT3 engine, with I might add, enough performance for most owners. If you were worried about that engine after the warranty expires buy a spare OEM GT3 engine along with the RS, considering the ECU and other engine support items the matching OEM engine would a better insurance policy.

Me, if I could acquire a RS, I would enjoy it and extend the warranty if I was worried, for me one of the few reasons to switch from the Spyder I have is that GT3 engine.

Hey, $60k for some, is like $2,349 (on sale) for others. All I know is that if my bank accounts worked better, I'd be doubling up, and buying spares all over the place during these changing times of scarcity...bikes/bike parts, stereo (damn its been hard to get vacuum tubes for the past year), cars/car parts, (insert your hobbies/necessities here).

Yeah but this motor is clearly built and intended for street use.

And low/midrange torque is absolutely relevant there. It's pretty rare I am up over 5000rpm on the street, relative to how often I am pulling away from a stop or a rolled light, etc.

So your saying it's built for stoplight to stoplight drag racing.

#facepalm

Why does "racing" of any kind have to be involved? Track, street, or otherwise? If you have the ability to throw $50k at the whole DeMan package, you likely already have a proper track car for using in situations where lap times actually matter beyond satiating a curiosity. And for those cases, there are probably already better mods available to help with that, whereby maximum power is extracted when at WOT and way up in the rev range. I'm sure if DeMan wanted to focus on that, the build and power curve would come out entirely different. (Even though, even in track use, there is definitely a nice advantage to having big torque off of corners... the team I work for, despite being largely Porsche fanatics, campaigns a couple BMW M4 GT4's instead of the GT4 Clubsport is simply because of the extra grunt out of low speed corners.)

A motor/gearing package that not only has the ability to rip when wound up, but is super snotty down low - is immense fun on the street.... even without exceeding speed limits.

I guess we've finally distilled the essence of these block upgrades now, maximum punch at 2000 RPM so that your high revving NA Porsche can at last compete with a chipped Golf GTI low down.

Unless GT4 racing works differently on the US side, BOP rules make the cars as equal as possible and any advantage in 1 area gets compensated somewhere else.

All this time, you just now figuring that out?

Actually, aren't the power/TQ curves similar to stock...just more of each throughout the rev range? And yes, it pains me that my "stock" GLIs, 6 and 7 speeds respectively, feel faster from a stop than my "track car" costing 4x-5x as much.

would really enjoy a comparison of new spyder rs vs one of these.
deman has torque, stick, easier top
rs has noise and revs.
