I have a PDK GT4 so the gear thing isnt such a big deal to me.
My alignment is pretty street friendly, nothing too crazy. The suspension arms and links that were changed definitely make a huge difference in terms of taking slack and "deflection" out of the system, but the dampers seem to make the biggest difference overall IMO (not too surprising, I suppose). Joey has lots of different "stages" in terms of components which are great for finding what you're looking for. For example, My brother @FAhmed has some of the E-Motion treatment on his GT4 (no upgraded dampers), but not nearly the "full fat" setup that my Spyder has. Both setups are great. I'd definitely talk to Joey directly (since you are local to him) and see what he recommends for your car!

11,000 miles on a 981 4.5L—zero problems. Got a 718 GT4 in May and the first order of business (among other things) was to drop the gearbox and swap in short ratios. Do it and never look back.

Ended up doing about 1500 miles. Car has just about 2500 miles total on it now. Hope to do many more next season!

Wow, I can't imagine only driving it ONLY that far... does Rick even consider it broken in yet?

Hahah you know this is partly because of my OCD and partly because of my work schedule. Still, gives me something to look forward to when we thaw out

Yes, break in is around 500 miles per Rick. To be fair, I do rotate with other cars. Also spend a lot of time at the track with a different car as well.

can we do a group buy?

I love my spyder and I'd also love a GT3 but I'd hate to lose the open top. What's the lead time to get something like this done? Winter is coming so I can kind of live without it in the NE

Probably need to contact the shop to get an accurate answer.

Can the 4.5L conversion be done on the GTS 4.0 models, or is it purely Spyder/GT4?

Cheers!

@JAhmed just curious since you didn’t mention… which dampers did you get? I think Joey likes KW… so that would make it like the Manthey package. I’ve got MCS 2way w/remotes and they are fantastic! I’ve long dreamed of the 4.5L but will probably just continue with bolt ons so the car can be returned to stock. It’s plenty fast for me at this point! Thanks
