@JAhmed I am trying to coordinate a fall cruise down to Deals Gap with Stu and a few other good friends. Since I can't be there to harass him on weekends now - give him crap for it every time and keep it fresh. Maybe his GTS will arrive early enough to use it! And get your brother/buddies together too - lets do it!
let me know if you’re looking for more people! I live in a Louisville and have a spyder due to be delivered mid October (hopefully)! I’d be down if it’s here!

Check out this great work done by our client making a 4.5L 991.2 GT3 Touring..
This guy lives within a couple hours of me down here in FL. I look forward to checking it out in person! I can say with confidence the 4.5L treatment is on the horizon for my 718 GT4. Keep up the great work Rick!

I'd love to see some video of a 4.5 with PDK please.

I know this is the 4.5L thread but I keep watching that Tedward video with the stock 4.0 + DeMan's gearing and my credit card just hopped up out of my back pocket and ran into my closet screeching "yeeeeeeeep!" because that gearing is doable today... but the gearing + the motor is gonna require another annual bonus at work before I'd consider going that far!

Anyone on here running 4.5 conversion or gearset for over more than 5000 miles, or know more about the quality and origin of the gearset parts?

Thanks for feedback. So no niggles or issues along the way?

Got a chance to let some of the guys at my dealership (Porsche Barrington) experience the car today. It remains the wildest ride I’ve ever owned, and keeps on getting better as I get to know it .

Here you'all go ..
This was a 100 degree day and easily 140 degrees plus on the track .. there is plenty of opportunity for me to improve .. however due to heat and a front driver's tire that needs to be replaced .. and literally no one else on the track .. I was just enjoying driving it!

have the DeMan treatment
718 4.5L
catted headers and factory PSE
Over Axle pipes
Lightweight flywheel and clutch
short gear set 2-5 installed
LSD
100 octane tune

current mileage is ~5700 (I picked up late year with barely 500 miles)

TURN UP THE VOLUME and enjoy

Off topic, but club motor sports looks awesome. $15k initiation and $2,100/year for 1 driver/10 track days. I wish I had something like that near me. Amazing views in the background, lots of twists and elevation changes.

Here is what I would say about Club Motorsports - it was a ~5 hour ride for me .. really like the course and they have plenty of land to expand .. they have a new clubhouse under construction. No gas pumps onsite (future plan, but for now they do not want to take away from the local economy) .. which is "OK" as nearest is ~2 miles there .. but it would be "easier" to pump the 100 octane closer. The staff were awesome! I literally had access to 3 instructors the entire time .. they took me around the track first and did ride-alongs/tips/feedback till everyone felt comfortable. This club is located in a tourist town and plenty of things to do (hiking, biking, camping, and decent eats).

I know this is primarily a discussion about the 4.5L conversion, but since you mentioned these suspension upgrades can you elaborate a bit on what difference they made?

The car's handling was basically transformed. Not that it handled poorly before, but it did have some "rear end waggle" that I wasn't too fond of, specifically under braking and when the rear end would get deflected mid corner. The car also did not tend to "smooth out" bumps as well as an MR damper car (458 and GT500 being my most recent references). While I decided to go with the "kitchen sink" approach, I suspect the dampers themselves made the biggest difference on how the car behaves overall.

For example, there is an off ramp near my home that I take on a daily basis and I know pretty well. I take it pretty briskly in every car, including my daily Taycan and wife's Cayenne GTS. Every car I own (see sig) gets deflected on a small ridge mid corner on that ramp, basically regardless of speed (>50 mph). The Spyder doesn't seem to notice it at all, even at triple digits.

The above is all anecdotal and subjective, and I don't have g forces and skidpad numbers to back my assessments up. But the car FEELS much better to me (I have thousands of miles of seat time in stock 718 GT cars), and that made the price of entry worth it.

So essentially a coilover system with PASM delete and most bits updated. What alignment do you have? Approx how much did this cost from Joey? I found him to be very good and extremely expensive. But if you go the whole Deman 4.5L, regear and suspension cost really isnt an object. The reason I ask is that at some point I may do coilovers and then Deman in that order. I have a PDK GT4 so the gear thing isnt such a big deal to me.
