I had the chance to do another long drive in the car this weekend and my son came along for the ride. Hwy 2 over Stevens Pass to Leavenworth and then I finished the loop to Cle Elum and I90 back to Seattle. It was dry but cold with temps in the mid 30s going over the mountain passes and finally reaching the 50s later in the day. I was with a big group of super cars and my PS4S tires did great even in the lower temps but I wasn’t pushing it.
This car continues to put a permanent smile on my face and my 11 year old insisted on keeping the top down for most of the day. Heated seats for the win!
A few recent photos although I’ve been too busy having fun behind the wheel to take many!
Pre-sunrise at the meet up point.
Lunch stop, top down over the mountain passes!
My co-pilot’s reward 😃

Soooo happy your 11-year-old loves to drive with you! Congrats!
In my household, neither my wife nor our 25-year-old son likes to drive much, never mind driving with me in a fast Porsche. So we have 3 "adopted" daughters that we've picked up (mother passed away, father living overseas) and one is s a car girl! So we go out together and have fun. It's nice to have a driving companion, but only if they actually enjoy it, right?
Your car looks great! Nothing like a white Spyder, the original colour of the 987.2 Spyder release. Classic.
Stuck just north of you, waiting for the border to open and enjoy those Cascade Mountain range roads!

I’m up to 1000 miles on the car and things just keep getting better. I had the chance to take an all day driving tour and my wife joined…she loves the car almost as much as I do. Fun all the time and comfortable enough to spend the whole day, even a really rainy one, exploring some beautiful local roads.
Today I put the finishing touches on the suspension setup:
TPC Racing Toe Links - based on the recommendation of many forum members and the folks at TPC, I bought these to pair with my DSC Controller in hopes of dialing in an aggressive street, occasional track alignment.
Rennline stud conversion - for easier maintenance and to protect the PCCBs…I also think they look cool I went with 45mm but I think 35mm would work better, at least for the front. I’ll live with them for a while but may go down a size up front.
I had what I think is the best shop in town, Tru-Line (https://www.trulineseattle.com), do the install and alignment. I’ve had them do wheels/tires and alignments on all my cars and they always do an excellent job.
They dialed in a setup for mostly street, occasional track and in hopes of preventing too much uneven tire wear. They also dropped the tire pressure to 30 front, 32 rear.
Lastly, they removed the transport block that was still on my front right spring!! My dealership did an alignment before my car was delivered to me and somehow missed this. I put 900+ miles on the car and it still had a shipping block on it. That explains some of the noise I heard as well as a few ride quality issues I had written off to our terrible roads. I think they were left on both sides and the left side flew off on my first tour. I remember going over a big bump at speed and hearing something ping and then a noise under the car. I thought I had scraped the diffuser but I bet it was a shipping block flying off. I’m glad it is sorted now.
The car feels better than ever and I can immediately feel the positive impact of lower tire pressure and the transport block being gone. I can’t wait to see how it does on the next long drive!
I also placed an order for a Kline OPF delete and exhaust setup in stainless along with CF tips and the valve controller. Thanks to Eric at SupremePower for making that process so easy and I’m looking forward to getting this system installed in 6-8 weeks. I was tempted by the in-stock Inconel but couldn’t justify the premium and prefer a deeper tone anyway.

Looks awesome. We can do a direct comparison on the Kline as I prefer the higher pitch of inconel.

I met with a local artist / wrap expert recently to start talking about my project and he is working on some design ideas. I’m thinking Martini inspired but something that flows a bit more organically with the design of the car. It will take a while but I’m still committed to having some good mid-life crisis fun with the car
I’m also thinking about the wheels. I like the design but I’m not loving the silver finish Porsche used. I’m not in a rush to change them but I’m looking at color options. Something dark but not black…I want to see the details of the wheel still. I’m going to wait for the wrap design before deciding. So many mods, so little time

Did you do the headers as well? I’m leaving stock headers/cats for now.

The more you drive, the darker it gets.
Literally rinse and repeat.
Nice write up. Looking forward to pics of your wrap. Maybe you can do some crazy wheel colours to match for fun.

Yeah I’m thinking they both sound awesome. Just different shades of color so to speak. No headers for me as I want to remain in the “stock” class for AX.

I took advantage of some rare beautiful November weather for some top down driving and a few photos at Alki in West Seattle. Damn I love this car!
