Looks like base price keeps going up. It was 141k USD when introduced, then 149k, now 160k for the next MY. I guess it's good for current owners since it pushes the car value up.

Is MY24 the last production year or will there be MY25? I seem to remember reading article about cayman going electric in 25.

It doesnt really push any value up. All cars are advertised relative to their window sticker. $141k msrp car isnt suddenly going to appreciate $19k.

All it will do is it will make older cars easier to sell due to lower cost. But if the price goes up, most people would get the newer car. Why pay more for the older car?

I think as the price increases this serves to pull up the value (or at least slow its depreciation) of the previous model years.

Additionally if you are not able to secure an allocation then a clean previously owned example becomes more valuable. As for this making the previous model easier to sell, maybe but it is not really about the price as much as supply and demand. That is why we see the used examples of these cars being offered over their original MSRP.

hasn't felt easier. the landed PTS car i mentioned a while back sold basically same day. i haven't heard of many MY24 slots available...I'd assume most went to people like me who were waiting for their time to order.

Ben, what's the latest with allocations and ADM's. ADM's seem to be getting smaller? Thanks.

Saw an article today in Car and Driver that electric 718 will go on sale early 2024 with deliveries starting fall 2024 (MY25). If that's the case, MY24 could be the last year for ICE 718. I hope I am wrong ...

4RS are not necessarily built on the same plant as the new electric 718. As such, they can happen concurrently. There should be overlap between electric 718 and 4RS spyder, and some overlap between 4RS spyder and 4RS.

That said, like any porsche models, last year's production is tapered to zero but no one knows when the last car exits the plant.

Yes, you are correct.

PAG has already formally announced overlap with the follow-on EV and current 718 ICE.

As you noted different production lines and still a lot of special 718s to milk out.

Porsche have ceased the production line of GT4 and GT4 Spyder to free up production ability of the GT4RS version and RS Spyder. The ICE and EV Cayman/Boxster will coexist for 12-18 months from mid 2024. This was reported from Germany when they also announced recent price increases.

In Australia the EV Cayman will not be seen before mid 2025, and then the ICE will be no longer. So MY25 will be the end of GT4RS into Australia. If no allocation awarded by mid 2024 (for a late 24 or early 25 build) you will not be receiving a GT4RS or RS Spyder...
