I would take the trade. Had both and the RS is 100 leagues above it. Enjoy in good health!

So far I am being offered $40k over MSRP for the 4RS, but still feel like that's steep. I believe my GT4 is currently worth around $20k over MSRP. Any advice would be appreciated!
$40k seems to be the going rate, this is what numerous friends have been forced to pay for their allocations, even with long purchasing history’s.

I previously owned a 718 GT4 and currently have a 4RS, it is absolutely worth the upgrade. The 4RS is such an amazing car

absolutely! I think of it as a Time Machine, when I get in the car and drive around it makes me smile, laugh and feel like I am 16 again, it’s just such a crazy cool experience. Then for the grown up in me it’s rewarding to drive. Win all around

Also have to figure what would your sales tax consequence would be to buy the car out right versus trading in your GT4 on the deal? I hope to be in a similar position with my 23 GT4 but my phone isn't ringing with an allocation.
I got myself all fired up about the possibility of receiving an allocation when Porsche recently sent me an email asking me to build the gt4rs of my dreams which I did i and I included the Club Sport package. Now I come to find the Club Sport package is not available in the United States and my phone still isn't ringing even though I'm staring at it intently.

You aren't going to sell your GT4 for 20k over on your own. 10k over if you're lucky even with it only having 400 miles. 20k over is only possible if its some PTS unicorn color/spec.

With Caymans going all electric at some point, both the GT4 and GT4RS will likely hold their value well, so I think you need to carefully consider you LIKE more. 4RS is a loud and raw and somewhat firm PDK car, manual GT4 is a more relaxed car which offers the engagement of manual.

They are likely going to offer you MSRP at MOST on your trade. I think 40K plus getting beat up on trade is a bit high.

I'm also an MSRP only guy so maybe bias a bit

Sadly, I had the same "coming crashing down to reality" episode when I too built the GT4 RS of my dreams after receiving a similar email. We can dream though!

Default Working on deal

Looks hopeful for a dealership I used to work with..further details once I get back in town
wooll be nice once everyone gets their deals done.. to hear about conditions, ADM , trade values that took place to get your vehicle

fir others waiting wouldn’t get discouraged yet
GT4RS will still be getting built into most of CY 24
so another round or more should happen
PLUS SM are just now making offers and workings lists There will be some that don’t take offer or can’t get deal done
