Not a fan of the GT4RS loud cabin noise. That’s a dealbreaker for me. If the SRS sounds anything like that in the cabin it’s a no-go. That said, I am modifying my Spyder as much as possible for the track with headers, over axle pipes, full exhaust, ECU tune, DSC controller, larger front splitter, GT4-like spoiler. As soon as a suitable roll bar is available, that will go in.

This way, I don’t have to wait for SRS production/allocation to occur.

Had both a 992 gt3 and a 718 spyder, and heavily modded the 718… the spyder cannot become a gt3. Mainly because of the engine. The gt3 4.0 is all the money and 9 grand is where its at. That engine is just in another league altogether in my opinion. Thats why the spyder RS will go down as a special car

I have a .2 GT3RS WP For the track. I just want to modify my Spyder to get all the performance that I can from it and not have to wait 150 years to get an SRS allocation.

Then youre al set. I agree the srs allocation process may be super painful and it will cost at least double the spyder. Just trying to think what is the best differentiator between the two. I guess aside from the motor the “regular” spyder also has the 2 gearbox options. I hope they pull a sneaky one and add a manual for the srs. I would buy that gearbox and have it regeared and slap it in my 4rs. No question

If they come out with a manual I may actually buy the engine and the gearbox and have both installed on my lowly regular Spyder (assuming I won't get an allocation)

Same cars here, the Spyder with Kline sounds nice, but the difference is the engine; the GT3 engine is in its own league. I would love the have the same Spyder design (not so aggressive) with the GT3 engine, but it will not happen. Let's see the Spyder RS design, I'm on the list for it.

You'd have to rig up the air plumbing as well, obviously. As a "no way I'll get an allocation" schlub also, I wonder how much a retrofit would cost. lol

Makes more sense to do the Deman 4.5L and short gears then try to jerry rig the RS stuff in.

Sounds like 6-figure surgery to me. The GT3 engine alone costs a fortune as a crate engine (more than a Base Boxster). Then you have the gearbox, specific electronics, and any modifications necessary to make them fit and work.

Given the market prices at the moment, upgrading my current Spyder to a Spyder RS should cost 6 figures with the ADM anyways assuming the MSRP will be similar to a GT4 RS. If Porsche was to build a 6 speed model, I would be willing to swallow some ADM but nowhere near $100k people have been talking about lately.

deman is great (i really like their product) except u cant go back to full stock. Putting an RS back to full stock its still an RS.
if u get a cloned ecu and a manual tranny for example, then u have 2 completely different cars for the price of 1 (or the price of 2 lol). And both are “factory” RS

I was referring to the poster who wanted to put the RS Engine/Trans in their normal Spyder. In that case the DeMan seems cheaper and easier for more performance.
