I'm going to be in the HUGE minority on this, but for me personally, PTS has lost its desire. I have owned two PTS Spyders... 2012 987.2 in Riviera Blue (1 of 4 PTS in the NA), 2016 981 in Sport Classic Grey (1 of 2 globally and 1 of 22 PTS in the NA). Prior it was way cheaper and way more rare. If you got PTS it was like winning the Porsche lottery. Since, Porsche has expanded quantities dramatically and raised the price more and more... You pay more for something less rare than prior. Before you truly had something no one else did. Now it's not the case. Also hate the fact Porsche has replicated popular PTS colors within the inline colors... example, sport classic to chalk, voodoo to shark, Ruby Star to Ruby Star Neo and now the latest, Oak green to oak green Neo. Sure they aren't 100% the same but so damn close. Not a good feeling to pay the premium for something you thought was special to only be offered in abundance to everyone else. As mentioned I know I will be in the huge minority regarding this topic, but it's the reason I won't order another PTS. On the flip side I do enjoy seeing them though.

but the SRS has none of them except the milky washed out ruby and the hyper saturated shark
Thus is an obligation to pay the premium for a decent color , problem is that crazy WP doubling the cost, a Porsche tax over tax

With my 987 Spyder, you didn't have a public palette to choose from, you had to submit actual paint samples to Porsche for achievability testing. I tried multiple times with all my selections rejected. After several attempts, I missed the window. Then by luck while searching inbound dealer inventory, I happen to find a Riviera Blue one that was unspoken for. Walters Porsche had a history of ordering PTS for dealer inventory. So it was pure luck. It wasn't a color I would have chosen on my own, but gave it a shot.
Now with my 981 Spyder, I managed to snag a PTS slot again, but specifically worked with someone in the exclusive department. I'm a sucker for the older solid grey colors. When the 911 Sport Classic debut, I fell in love with it. Keep in mind back then, no cars were colored solid grey (unlike today). It was a color that was previously banned and was just released.
Fast forward to the present... Porsche has Chalk and Arctic Grey (Both I have owned and love). Thus the reason I ordered Arctic again. So maybe I would be have a different POV if those colors were not around. Although I said otherwise earlier, I agree PTS should be about ordering a special color with meaning to the buyer rather than something due to rarity or others opinion on resale.
Well it is what it is, and the process is way easier now for those that choose to get one.

We have discussed whether to choose WP or not. Many people feel that it's not worth it, and that the exposed carbon actually diminishes its elegance.
However, the outcome is that now, photos of car owners picking up their cars on social media, almost all cars are with WP, haha.

As for my $30k, I have other plans: exhaust upgrade, ppf or maybe what this guy did:

I am with you when it comes to PTS, I wouldn't order it.
