I never really felt like my car was a real thing until it started production. So much was going on in the world...I always half expected the car to never actually materialize. The excitement definitely ratcheted up a notch when it started production, and then REALLY did when it was actually complete.

I wonder how many people repeatedly do this for the excitement / high of the ordering and procurement process? Would those people be classified as masochists? lol

Oh this is so true. Even the day before i picked up my car, i couldn't believe it was real. I kept thinking that i'd all of a sudden wake up from my dream and be in bed without a Porsche or allocation. It didn't hit me till i saw the taillights peaking through the car cover sheet at the experience center. That's when i knew it was real. And then to see it unveiled and then to sit inside? Amazing.

I am trying to understand the point of this comment being posted on rennlist, a forum dedicated to Porsche and for people who are enthusiastic about the brand and their cars.

TYD right now has been the most up to date tracking on this ship, as you can see “distance to dealer” adjust every hour. Mine is currently 633 miles!

The vessel was pushed back 3 days at the Halifax Port. Delays like this are typical as the ship has to wait its turn to be called into port, which could also be the case when it arrives at Baltimore Further delays such as our cars being processed slowly at the port, and awaiting their final destination transportation are also likely… with the icing on the cake being how long it takes your dealer to have the car ready for pickup. There is nothing we can do within our means to speed up this process, though you might shave a day, maybe 2, if you make the request for no dealer prep.

So my spyder that had a 12/21 start of production just got its production complete date pushed a second time. Was originally early January, then February 3, now February 17. Not that I’m in a rush for it in the winter but curious what keeps pushing it. No buckets but has pccb.

I see this ETA: Reported ETA: 2023-02-06 05:30 LT (UTC -4)

It is quite possible there is a scheduling problem with berth or shore workers to unload the ship.

Wow, wonder what's causing that! My GT4 started production on the 1/31 and finished yesterday, 2 days ahead of schedule. That was the original production start date too, no bumps at all, and I made multiple changes to my build right up until the day of lock. I do have buckets and the proper PDLS+ lights, but no PCCB - perhaps they are the cause for the delay.
