Hi,
I've posted a few times trying to learn how all this worked. Put a "demand" order in 3rd week of August 2021 for a GT4. 15 months later, Nov 2022, my order was placed! It was kind of funny, I was logging into the portal for something else and was greeted with the summary screen showing the 4 phases. No call, no email from dealer/SA. When I called him to ask if it was real, he backpedelled and said "yeah some folks got some errant email". I told him, "no email I'm on the portal and is shows up as ordered." He logged in, said "wow, congrats, they didn't even tell me they'd put this in!" Then he sent the email. I made a couple of changes to the config as they put the one in from Jan/Feb of 2022; fortunately that didn't move the dates any.
I'm buying at MSRP, first time Porsche buyer. I didn't really think this was going to happen, so bought a 2019 GTS last May. Currently shows lock date (which moved 3 weeks in recently) or March 13, dealer delivery June 9. Now that I have a PO, (not yet signed but this dealer is known to sell at MSRP) I'm pretty excited. They do handshake deals, still don't require money down, but said we could sign a PO and they'd take $1000 if I prefer, so I'll be doing that.
SA said it's unclear to them if there will be 2024 model year GT4s, but they've always kept allocations close to vest, so, just another data point. I can say following things in here and in the allocation tracker thread for 1.5 years I've seen at least a couple posts of "my premier dealer whom I've known for years said no more GT4s " about first quarter of 2022, and that's when they did a reset on many things over parts shortages, and other "firm" statements that "end of allocatons for ... whatever time period. This is why I got discouraged a year ago and started looking for the best Cayman I could find without being over list. But obviously those prognostications have been wrong. So I wouldn't lose all hope.
Congrats to all who made it to the finish line or can see their car is being built, hope to get to that point soon!

Another member on here used my VIN to pull the tracking info. ETA to my dealer around the 17th.
I’d guess the next stop in FL would be around the 12/13th. ETA to your dealer around the 22nd.
Right now the boat is set to arrive in Halifax on the 3rd which is 1 day earlier than projected, so the above timelines will most likely fluctuate by a day or two +/-

LED versus PDLS+
I’m about to place an order for a CGTS 4.0, and my dealer informed me that LED headlights are not available anymore. Actually PDLS Plus are gone on the configuratore but LED PDLS (non Plus) showed up, which I’ve never heard before. Still, he told me any LED is not available. It’s such a bummer as bixenon transform the look of the car and apparently the bixenon are not even PDLS, but I have to choose the dark bixenon to get PDLS? Mine will be an October build so I hope they come back before my build locks. Do you have any more information on this?
I'd try to start a new config (supposing you don't want to change the one you have) and see if the configurator offers LEDs with PDLS.
Good luck!

I’m outa here!
Picked up my GT4 this morning from South Shore Porsche. Great experience with Anna and thanks for the battery tender and winter floor mats.
With all the horror stories I’ve read about I had a very easy process. Started looking last august, found an allocation in September and got delivery today. It helped I had a 992 to trade in.
First impressions from 80 mile drive home:
Love how it drives! Briefly had a 992 and was a long term 996 owner before that. IMO the 718 feels much more like the updated descendant of 997 and prior 911s that the 992. Just my opinion.
This thing is loud inside!
Bose sucks. Have had Bose in every Porsche since 1999 and they’ve all been “fine”. This is worse. I hindsight I should have gotten the base and invested in an aftermarket upgrade.
No matter how silly the cup holders are in here, they’re better than the 996!
Auto blip is remarkably good, although I prefer to shift without it.
Believe people when they say don’t drive on the OEM tires in cold weather - I didn’t have a choice. Was fun when back end broke loose making a turn!
Wish it had memory seats - I’ve got the 18 ways. I expect a lot of family and friends with want to take her for a spin and they’re all going to mess up my seat settings!
No issue at all with the MT gearing.
I’m usually not one for cosmetic upgrades but I got the leather dash and contrasted stitching - looks really nice.
That’s it for now - good luck everyone. It’s worth the wait!
