Re: PPF and Ceramic
Clearly different opinions and options for different people. If you are the type to trade in your car and a few years, then full PPF is not likely a good investment. Maybe just high impact areas or not at all. If you are a long term owner who values original paint, it's kind of priceless when you think about it. Repainting and repairing will never be original. I also really like the fact that all the little stuff won't turn into big stuff. Whether we're talking about multiple small stone chips that make the car look bad, or lots of swirl marks and bird crap stains, etc that simply won't happen with PPF. And yes, your PPF can get banged up, but replacing it is way better than repainting. Plus, when do you decide to repaint? After 1 chip, 3, 100? And the second time?
But again, totally different options for different people's comfort level. I went from not having it, to putting in on half my cars, to full wraps. And every second I'm driving and cleaning the fully wrapped cars my OCD and blood PSI are both at east. Sorta priceless for me.
As for ceramic, I'm a believer. I do most of it myself. This time I had it applied with the full PPF wrap because my installer made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I'm interested in seeing how it compares to the consumer grade I have on my other car.
The important thing is: everyone should enjoy their cars! Carry on....

Guess I am moving here pretty quickly. This will be my first new Porsche. I have worked for Porsche teams as a side "gig" mainly to get away from the dreariness of Corporate Financial statements. Worked for both Bodymotion and TPC, both great teams that I hope to continue working with in the future. I rescued a 1986.5 928S from the crusher about 2 years back, and have constantly ogled other's GT3s and Spyders. It was finally time for me to get one, and with the past 7-8 sports cars being coupes, I wanted a convertible for just fun on the street. With the death imminent (next 5-10 years) of manual NA cars, I jumped. The C8 Z06 coming in as automatic cemented my decision (currently have a C6 Z06 that I love and hopefully will be overshadowed by the Spyder).

One of my son's favorite Christmas movies is Muppet Christmas Carol; we watched it a few weeks ago so Kermit's "One More Sleep 'Til Christmas" is still fresh in my mind. Here's to a belated Christmas for you!

Don't have an allocation yet - but hoping I get one soon. In the meantime, been binge watching 718 Spyder drive video reviews to help cope. Came across this new video review of a beautiful Gentian Blue which I haven't seem before and think that other people waiting for their build to come in or even for an allocation might appreciate. I know I enjoyed it!

It took my car a week to go from Houston Port to San Antonio. However, I saw someone in St Louis get there’s in 2-3 days same boat.
I predict it’ll be quicker than 23 days, where are you located?

My very proactive SA let me know they don’t have much visibility on transport.
They did get a heads up on the day it was inbound though. Followed by these shots couple hours later
