1st Time poster - A little depressed by this thread!
Great to have discovered this Forum (and wish I had done so last year!). I've been planning a retirement present to myself (718 GTS 4.0, MT, Lava Orange) for over a year now with a view that I would time my order to be able to pick it up in Europe in spring 2021, so I can ride off into the sunset in style. I had reached out to the local Porsche dealer ~2 years ago when I began to formulate my plan and have an email saying delivery time is ~4 months. Clearly, this is no longer the case!
Imagine my surprise when I walked into the dealership 2 weeks ago, with my Porsche Configurator and a deposit in hand, only to find out that there's a strong possibility that I won't even see a delivery in 2022. I was gobsmacked to hear this, and despite placing "an order" and giving a deposit, my enthusiasm has taken a hit. TBH, I'm not even sure if what I've done is considered actually placing an order and I am worried that my "order" is at risk of evaporating at some point in late 2022 moving me back to the back of the queue!
Any thoughts, words of wisdom or a pep talk would be welcome! I know I could get a Corvette c8 or BMW M4 as a substitute and scratch some of the itch, but everything I read about the GTS4 MT tells me it is the car that I want (and after working hard all these years, the car I deserve!).

No update to My Porsche or Track Your Dream so I reached out to my SA this morning
Good news. My Spyder is at Emden waiting for the next ship to San Diego which should be the Glovis Supreme.
It should be in San Diego just before Christmas. Maybe delivery by the New Year. I'm sure Porsche and the Dealer would like to add that to their 2021 numbers.

Track Day
Picked up my Spyder yesterday...
Just wanted to drop a quick note here as I picked up my Spyder yesterday from Porsche of Woodland Hills. Many thanks are in order - first to Jacob (aka EvilTuna7) who on May 18th posted on this forum that he had a line on an allocation. He introduced me to David Lang at Porsche WH who is an awesome SA, first class all the way through the process, always responsive, happy to tweak my build before it locked, communicative, etc - I highly recommend David. Then nearly six months to the day from first chatting with David, my Gentian Blue 718 Spyder arrived! Here are a couple of quick pictures - more to follow in another thread with some thoughts on the driving experience once I have a chance to make a few thoughtful modifications (beginning with clear side markers...). But in the meantime, a final shout out to everyone actively participating in these forums, the knowledge contained here is an amazing resource - thank you!!!
Cheers,
Andrew

ok, thanks. My car goes into production Friday and finishes next Friday (assuming those are real dates). I've read that the assembly line photo shows up on or after the assembly phase is updated. Suffice it to say, I'm hitting refresh a lot these days. I apologize in advance if I bring the system crashing down as a result.
