I lost my GT4 in September due to hurricane Ida after only owning it for 2 months. I was losing hope on getting another allocation but my SA called me yesterday to tell me he has one with a May delivery date and with no ADM.

Hey everyone. I’ve got a GT4 sitting in Emden waiting to get on the Siem Cicero. The ship is in port - any idea how long the boats usually take to load? It is now showing a delay on the track my Porsche site and not scheduled to leave until 11/24. Maybe there’s an issue with the ship?

So close and yet so far away!

My GT4 finishes production on Nov 12. The shipping company was kind enough to wait for my car.🤣

Same thing happened to me on the Siem Confucius, once the ship got into port all of a sudden TYD claimed it was going to leave 2 weeks later. As you say, unless there's something wrong with the ship no way is it going to sit in port that long not making money and occupying a RORO dock. Meanwhile, the shipping schedule said it would leave in 3 days. Sure enough, 3 days later it left port and my car was on it, even though TYD still claimed my car was waiting to be "On Vessel". I was literally watching it (virtually) leave port on marinetraffic.com and TYD still said I had a couple of weeks to go, even though it was still telling me I was on the Siem Confucius. It took another day before TYD caught up with reality and my dates went back to where they were before. If in doubt, I suggest contacting your SA tomorrow. My guess is the dealer system will say it's leaving in a couple of days and TYD is wrong.

Btw, do you know how to find the shipping schedule? I am using marine traffic to track the ship but can’t see future schedule. Only past amd present. Thanks!

I got lucky, FASTRKMAN posted the latest shipping schedule on the "Emden next stop" thread. Siem Cicero is the last ship shown on the schedule he posted BUT it doesn't show an estimated time of departure. Siem Confucius was the last ship on that schedule with an estimated time of departure. As soon as Siem Cicero prepares for departure it'll show on marinetraffic, but unfortunately that doesn't happen until shortly before it leaves. Just keep your eye on it, but I'm guessing you're already doing that!

I would consider doing the roll hoops in the standard default color. When you do it in the paint color, it breaks the lines of the car. The Spyder is very curvaceous car. And leaving them in the default color does not interrupt those curves whereas in the painted color, it does. Totally my opinion. If it were a GTS or S or base Boxster, I would opt for the painted color as it is a straight line and the color is interrupted by the black top anyway before it gets to the hoops. Not that you should follow the crowd, but the vast majority I think feels the same way as it is not chosen very often on the Spyder.

+1 on this. I went with the standard black hoops for this reason. It works better that way on the Spyder, IMO.

Agree. Painted hoops look odd, like incomplete, on Spyder. I'd pass on them even on regular rag top, as they also get accentuated too much. Black blends well.

I was looking for something else this morning and found the November berthing calendar for Davisville at https://noradinc.com/davisville-berthing-schedule/. It shows the Siem Cicero scheduled to be in port at Davisville on 11/22. It's nominally about a 14-day trip from Emden, so I'd look for the Cicero to be leaving port in Emden very soon! Siem Confucius is scheduled to berth on 11/15 even though marinetraffic.com says it will get there on 11/13. Not sure if this means it has to sit around for a couple of days before being allowed to berth.

Nice to hear it! How long was your wait to this point?
I was V070 back in January and finally got the call last week.
We are both on about the same approx timeline ---- but yikes it looks 'out there' on TYD.

With this much time there are no excuses to not get all those accessories ordered or organized....
and good tips/threads in this forum on how to part with our $ .
