My experience with local SA's is that you have to find one that is a Porsche enthusiast themselves. We have a bunch, one that owns and drives a nice 991.1 coupe, another that has multiple Porsche including a CGT and a new Spyder. My SA I don't think owns a Porsche yet, he's lower on the sales associate echelon, but is super enthusiastic and send me updates as often as they come in.
So the experience seems to vary with the dealership.
And who knows, many of us know more about the cars than the SAs and we're probably not all that far off from the Tesla model of online ordering.

I'm scheduled for production! And, my estimated date of delivery went down--just a couple of days, but down from New Year's Eve to 12-29.
These two small victories, coupled with the news we've seen here of actual cars being delivered whole, leads me to think I actually have a shot at getting my car! Before 2022! maybe.

My delivery date just changed as well. Was 12/31 now 12/24.

This is very interesting to me since my car is currently scheduled to be “scheduled for production” tomorrow. I am currently showing a delivery date of 1/7 at my dealer. Now you have me wondering if my date will move up after tomorrow. What port will your car enter the states? I am Houston. Maybe we will end up on the same ship 🚢

Exit Emden, V322, on 12/3 heading for Baltimore.

My car hit Houston 30 days after completing production.
Not all ships go to all ports so there is a variable on how long it sits in Emden.
Same goes for delivery to dealer, dependent on region and load.

I'm down to 176 days until scheduled delivery. How exciting is THAT?!

Well guys it looks like my schedule changed again lol. PECLA is cancelling all deliveries that are not 911 GT cars or Taycans. So now my car is going back to the dealer ship and has a new delivery date of 1/6/2022.

The date my car is supposed to be at the dealer went from today to 11/19. I haven’t been following it or bugging the sales mgr who is a friend as it comes when it comes. My only goal this yr was to get some break in miles before spring. We shall see.
