Thanks. We're on very similar schedules. My Spyder entered production on 03 JUN and is scheduled to be CPO 8.0 Production Complete on 01 JUL, with an estimated arrival at our local dealership on 05 AUG.

Excited to join the SB family, locked in my spec just an hour or so ago. Car should be here and ready to drive around mid-October. $126,620 no PCCBs available to add, and ended up canning the LWB seats.

I hadn't planned on selling my current sport/fun car but it looks like she'll be gone before the 718 arrives. So, I didn't need any reason to avoid driving this car as much as I can, therefore 18-ways were chosen. Hate the cheap looking silver backs on them, so leather seatbacks it is. Now, if only we could still add the yellow stitched leather for same price as the silver stitch, I'd have no misgivings at all. I'll be fine with the silver, I'm sure, but it was a choice I wanted to at least be able to make, not have made for me. Oh well!

Sharing the next photo dump from one of my good friends who is a photographer for Motor Trend, hence the talent :P. We just love how this color's shade can change dramatically depending on the lighting.

Not sure what you mean about the yellow stitching? You could have chosen it….for a nominal fee of course….$1500 if I remember correctly. That does force you into leather seats so if you didn’t spec those, then another $2100 I think. I was really on the fence about the LWBs. My salesman and his manager actually talked me out of them. He said they have had numerous people trade in their cars strictly because of the seats. Anyway, I still kinda wish I would have got them even though I do have some lower back issues. I was at a C&C a few weeks ago and there was a guy parked next to me in a GT3 with LWB. He was climbing into his car cussing up a storm saying how much he hated the seats….hahaha. I think it is one of those things for me I would kinda regret not getting them….and would have likely kinda regretted getting them. But boy they sure do look good in a convertible….especially one like the Spyder. But you didn’t indicate what car you got.

The selection in the configurator where you pick leather interior instead of the base - that selection gives 3 options. silver contrast stitch, red contrast stitch (+1500), or yellow contrast stitch (+1,500). As of a few days ago, orders who selected the option with yellow contrast have gotten the builds rejected as the yellow contrast is 'no longer configurable'. Some forum members are saying the yellow can still be done, but the buyer would have to pick the 'extended deviating stitching' package' (+3,230) [and in my case, adding the extra +610 for steering column and +1770 for the seatbacks] and select it in yellow; which is more expensive than the configurator options for red and previously, yellow. And then there's a loss of contrast stitch on the wheel and shift boot to be re-added in as additional CXX upcharge items - or - to be disappointed realizing when picking up the car that they're not in the same color as the rest of the stitching. For me, to add yellow stitching 6 weeks ago would have been a +1500 net, now it looks something closer to +5,500-6,000. I can live without it.

This is a recent development, one I'd have no idea about if the car were already in my hands if that makes sense.

I'm good with the seat choice for now, if it really bothers me, I can always change them on my next ordered GT car.

Great photos!

Are you in Irvine? I'm in Irvine too, now I going to keep my eye out for another SB GT4.

I fully disagree with that statement. SB is one of the least “floppy” colors outside of the silvers and whites and blacks. You want floppy??? Gentian Blue and Chalk change drastically based on lighting.

My Spyder arrived at Emden today. The POE will be Houston. Does anybody have the VW AG shipping schedule out of Emden showing the next month or so?

Thanks.

My SB Spyder is also sitting at Emden waiting for ship to Houston. We may be on the same ship so I will be following this.
