He didn't seem to be going to redline when I was near him although I'm sure he was going well past official recommendations. I was outrunning him pretty easily. There was another Shark Blue GT3 that was going much faster that I couldn't keep up with.
I was already at 2750+ miles so I was letting her rip!

Dug this thread up for this. The original shark blue inspiration is now locked up in Gibraltar.

And how do we feel about that?
That's the wrong yacht. The correct one is the Madame Gu... although it is Russian owned too.

Meh. Nice romantic story on the SB inspiration, but VW already had in its arsenal of paint choices right? I call BS on that marketing story..

That looks more Miami blue to my eye.

Well both could be true.

AP came back with a picture and the minions matched it to an existing VAG color.

My guess is he saw the yacht and thought of the VW Cornflower Blue. Then decided if Porsche could come up with a catchy name they could up charge Cornflower for a few thousand extra.🤣

Question about P1 inserts and matching the Shark Blue. Since I don't have my car yet, I can't just order samples and see what matches my car I guess I could get samples and run down to the VW dealer and match them to cornflower. Either way, I would like the wisdom of the crowd and if you have pictures, even better.

I have blue stitching throughout so keep that in mind. I want to break up some of the black without getting too wild. Here is my final build, by the way:
https://www.porsche.com/microsite/po...px?c=/PNJM55B6

I'm thinking of:
Sport-Tex Blue/White/Black: Afraid it may be too "highlander"
Blue and Black check: Afraid it may be a little too blue and not sure how well that blue matches the stitching
Pepita Black/White/Blue: May be a bit played out at this point
Tartan "Grampian": May be a bit much but looks good on the screen
Tartan Patriot Modern: Subtle and looks pretty sharp

Any other suggestions?

From their website, here is Pepita Blue/White/Black on what appears to be a shark GT4.

Ramsey Blue, which may be a bit much

Sport-Tech Black/White/Blue which I rather like

Grampian, which I hate or maybe it is just the seat belts.

1) I'd definitely do that. Especially given that blue grampian pic demonstrates to the n'th degree what can happen when colors don't mesh (What the h#!! are those belts, anyway?????).

2) If you call your choices not "too wild", you are one heck of a lot wilder a guy than I am (the guy with a Lava car saying this lol). Different strokes as they say......These are about as far as I'd go:
