Slightly off topic, but has anyone picked up a Shark Blue car in Europe? What was the condition of your paint out of the factory, i.e., would it have needed paint correction before applying a protection film?
Thanks.
I had a normal single stage machine polish/correction before PPF and ceramic coating. For me it is really a basic good practice preparation step. I have no idea if the paint condition “really” required it. I think the question when your detailer has inspected your car is, “does it need any machine polishing”
YouTuber “AMMO NYC” does not advise machine polishing new paint - best to follow your detailer’s advice though as he is responsible for your end result.

Yes super close - but I might be even more miffed that a VW can roll up next to you in “cornflower” which is shark blue! I’m on the list to order another car - I may just go Mexico Blue.
But a VW does not wear it as well. I posted my car next to a GTI somewhere on this thread. It just ain’t the same….even though it is…🤪🤪🤪
I think the Kia automotive group gets their color palate directly from Porsche. I think I have seen most Porsche colors on a new Kia by now. Chalk, Shark Blue, and Python (or close proxies) are all colors I have seen this week.

Just after I tool delivery of my Spyder I came across this so I backed in beside for a photo...

Funny because shark blue is basically voodoo blue which is a Toyota color 🤣
Lotus Daytona Blue is also near identical. Here’s my old Elise.
So, two weeks before my lock, I go to my dealer and they have a "Sold" SB Spyder. I have Sold in quotes as the buyer who ordered it ended up being a flipper. Since they only sell at MSRP, they refuse to sell to flippers or out-of-towners. They tried to get him to sight the first right of refusal paperwork that they do for all their GT cars but he refused.
So, now the car sits gathering pollen while they figure it all out. They did let me have the keys to check out some of the options which are similar to mine.
The extended leather dash with the contrasting stitching does look awesome. I am seriously thinking of adding it.
I'm glad I stayed with the platinum wheels as the silver is a bit much
I really didn't see the big deal on the leather visors, I think I will delete that from my build
I like and will keep my model designation delete on the rear
I disliked the shiny Porsche logo and I think it is a bit much, will change it on mine
I thought I wouldn't like the carbon inserts gut they weren't terrible. However, I think I'm sticking with the leather that I have on my build
