Thanks for that. Will check it out shortly. Was contemplating between SB+Classic or Chalk+ Classic.
SB is pretty “loud” and does not need a loud interior. Chalk/Crayon on the other hand, is quite subdued and the classic interior works very well with it.
I have Speed Blue stitching and I'm still confused about the differences between Speed and Shark Blue. There is one forum post that suggests that they are exactly the same. However, when I ordered my EdGuard bolster covers the speed and shark blue colors were different (very slightly, but different).
Does anyone have experience with speed blue stitching with the shark blue belts? The belts only became available recently and were not an option on the configurator when my car was produced. I'd like to know if they are going to clash before paying 1k for belts.
I did see a post in this thread where Laguna Blue was used from SeatBeltPlanet. From the pictures it looks great!! I would do that, but I'm not sure if I want to ship my seat belts somewhere given the number of package issues I've been having lately.
^^^ They've finally appeared! That's great. I figured they would shortly after I gave up waiting and went with the SeatbeltPlanet belts At least I saved hundreds of dollars by doing so.
To my eye, my Speed Blue stitching, while compatible with Shark Blue, definitely has a bit more of a purple hue.

I haven't personally seen both in person side by side to compare but from all that I've read on the forums, everybody seems to be told that they're exactly the same stitching. This includes apparently being told this by the Exclusive Advisors when ordering CXX options. I've always questioned if they're exactly the same why have two of the same things but with different names? It just makes it so confusing and unnecessary. It seems that if there are two different names, then it would suggest that there must be some difference even if it's just super small such as the smallest of tone/shade/saturation, etc but apparently that is not the case per PAG and Exclusive Advisors. Go figure.
Awhile ago someone posted a screenshot of an email from a Porsche guy that said they were indeed the same. I figured it was a Chalk/Crayon type situation.
I went to our local PCA Concours event. It was a great turnout of at least 100 cars. There were at least 12 GT3s of which about 8 were RS versions. There were about 10 930 turbos. And only ONE Spyder…mine. While it is very difficult to pick my favorite one, if someone put a gun to my head and forced me to pick, I think it would have been a 1998 911 Targa! It was black with a dark red interior. The owner said it was “Boxster red”…a dark red. It was absolutely perfect. There was just something about it. Anyways bunch of very VERY nice cars.
I rolled up on my SB Spyder and found its big brother. I will say that for people that don’t know the capabilities of the 992 GT3, the Spyder got significantly more attention….too much actually as I had to keep people off of the paint as they kept leaning against it to take pictures with it. We were at a popular touristy spot so there were a lot of passers by. The 992 was spec’d almost exactly like the launch car. And it had a “proper” transmission!!!…. A beautiful car and a super cool guy that owns it.
For those considering Shark Blue, I happened into an interesting comparison against Voodoo yesterday. Voodoo is probably the closest other color in the Porsche blue spectrum. Very close, but you can see the difference when placed side by side.
(I guess that guy was interested in my PCCBs?)
Love the look of the painted side vent, too bad they don't offer that on the GTS.
I love it too, but I love the contrast of the black more. Note my spoiler and my handles.
In case think I'm being PC about loving the painted side vent and shark in general I've been subscribed to this thread since I first started shopping. Went so far as to lock SB 'cause Lava struck fear into my heart (I hadn't seen it IRL). Begged and got them to change it a week later. As those of us old enough to remember Get Smart, "I missed it by THAT much (holds thumb and forefinger about half inch apart)".
