Completely worthless article.
"By contrast, Porsche—for the time being, at least—still offers a stick shift in the Cayman GT4. Of course, buyers who don’t want that six-speed manual can spend up for the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic."

And the debate will certainly rage.
Lets be thankful Chevy gives us such fine GT cars we can chase and be chased by. Its always a little extra fun besting a Vette, more so than a GT3 driver. Maybe one day, the Vettes and Camaro's I see at the track will be able to run all-out for a full session and all weekend. IMHO, they need to improve on that some, based on what I've experienced and observed.
And lets hope IMSA and GT World competitions sees more Vette and Camaro teams over the coming years. Some of the best GT races have been Porsche and Chevy going toe to toe.

These Z06 MSRP dealer lists were started years ago, before even the C8 release. So, yes some dealers are at MSRP -- just like some Porsche dealers -- but that doesn't mean you'll see one.

They’re both mid engine sports cars with naturally aspirated engines, and in the same pricing ballpark (C8 Z06 will probably be 10-20% cheaper). However, they have very different design philosophies.
The GT4 is relatively small and lightweight, has an old fashioned interior, available manual transmission, and it’s focused on being nimble and tactile, rather than the fastest car around a track, though it’s still respectably quick on track. It’s like a MX-5 or BRZ on steroids, designed to be fun on tight roads and autocross, in addition to on a race track.
The Z06 is a budget supercar. Wide, long, low, heavy, and very powerful, with massive steamroller tires. Compared to the GT4, it has superior suspension geometry and superior/faster reacting magnethorreological dampers. It remains to be seen if they resolved the understeering traits present on the C8 Stingray. It will wipe the floor with the GT4 in lap times and acceleration, probably the GT4 RS and GT3 too. It has more cylinders and a higher redline than the GT4, giving it a higher pitched sound, though not necessarily a more interesting/exciting sound (at least based on videos). Styling is very angular, not my taste. I’m not sure how tactile/feedback rich it will feel given the huge size, weight, and massive tires. No manual transmission option for those who care, though I’m not sure a manual makes sense on a car of this nature.

I have heard that Chevy was exploring a Manual version, but a very odd manual (retaining the dual-clutch box, but having a fly-by-wire clutch pedal and gear selector), since there are no physical linkages. Not sure if they abandoned it or if it may still be in some state of development…

As a small aside....what's with Car and Driver these days? I used to enjoy reading that magazine in my childhood. Always throught Csaba Csere was a strange looking name.
I don't read it today nor any regularly published magazine - online or print. Save for Panorama, local PCA mag and Hagerty Club. 000 when it comes.
Seems that people look down on C&D? Is it lousy now? Probably a few years ago when I looked, they had next to nothing on YouTube and what they had was crap. Which was surprising at the time.

I believe your mistaken. The last year of the C7 Z06 (2019) pricing was exactly $81k. You must've seen that, or someone must have told you based on the old model. The new guaranteed will be more. I'd guess 90-95 starting. And then of course $50k+ADM lol
