Thanks for sharing pictures! Looks like they didn’t take your rear bumper off, or disassembled too much of the car. That’s good compared to an earlier post for an engine swap where they did…

WOW that engine is right behind the driver, eh? I guess that panel is how you change the belts. Do the seats have to come out to access that or just slid forward?

Two comments: Wow that PDK transmission is huge, I can see why it weighs more than the MT! Second, I see a sound symposer tube that need blocking!

Yup, my car needs to be de-droned too after conrod swapping and JCR+Fabspeed replacements. Will be done in time (this month?)

I’ve absolutely no idea I just drive them and break them!!!

With regards the exhaust and sound tube, I’ll wait and hear what it’s like in person, I don’t think it will bother me. I’ve been in touch with a well respected Porsche Shop in the U.K. regarding their unsilenced race pipe for behind the OPF, it’s really decent and costs less than 2 grand (because it’s stainless and they also don’t rip people off for some piping!) so will likely go that way, but again will try it out standard first and get it all gently run in so it doesn’t use a tonne of oil like many new 718s that are spanked from day one!

Wow - nice car/nice shop. Really like the cleanliness of both. Being a gear head I do enjoy quality machinery in all its states. This is a great sign that engines are being swapped out.

Do you know if the Boxster GTS also has the sound symposer tube?

Looks like they took out passenger LWBS for better access.

Latest update, gearbox and ancillaries removed, heads are now coming off as we speak, he has to check all the bolts and anything less than 23 NM must be replaced…..

Sorry I should have said, any bolts less than 23 NM, the engine gets replaced, so full new engine, I’m hoping that’s not the case!
