If these cars come with engine replacement and a 10yr engine warranty, then they will command a premium in the used car market..

Lol...just like the 991.1 GT3 right?

There will be no 10 year warranty. That happened with the .1 because after all was said and done a significant material defect remained — finger follower. Engines still blowing up.

Well you managed to answer your own "lol". Impressive. Let's try again: If the 718 4.0 with replaced engines get a 10yr engine warranty, then they will command a premium in the used car market.

Does it ever get tiring coming on here and telling people what is “what”. I mean most people have skin in the game on here as owners/buyers of 718s; I guess you’re just the senior mentor helping out.

It will also inform these customers about the extended engine warranty and certificate of engine exchange
Hmm, this is promising from my standpoint. I hope the package is the same for everyone (all countries).

Default June Build - July Delivery Not Impacted yet

I can't keep up with the volume of messages on this thread but letting you know that I am not impacted yet, per my SA.
I have a build slot locked in for the third week of June and the third week of July for delivery.
I will keep everyone updated if these dates hold true.
My SA is checking weekly and providing me updates.

and the email just landed :
  1. new engine swapped at the dealer
  2. 8 year of warranty
  3. 4k voucher on this porsche or another one
  4. 1k voucher at an experience center

The only part that worries me is "dealer swapped", they say "The work will be completed by your dealership’s factory-trained technicians, who have significant experience removing and replacing engines, as this is common practice for many 718 maintenance operations."

Might stick around on those terms, not bad...

Just got another very professional and friendly email from Porsche. New Engines installed at the dealership, 4k in vouchers, and an 8 year warranty on the engine. Thank you to all the letter writers out there and to rennlist forum members for providing owners with a platform. Needless to say, I'm happy. Hope everyone else is okay with this?

I’m very pleased. New engine, 8 year warranty, paperwork documenting that the engine was replaced, car delivered within three to six months.

Not sure we could have reasonably hoped for a better resolution.

I’m not worried about the dealer pulling and reinstalling the engine. On Porsches that happens all the time.

I wonder if the 4 year extended warranty accounts for additional mileage as well.

So what does "new engine" mean? Complete assembly with all/most accessories? Or bare longblock? Big difference in terms of what "factory-trained" dealer technicians can **** up.

Solid resolution from Porsche. Only ambiguity is timing, is first in for an engine really “order date”. What does that mean exactly? Deposit date, lock date, delivery date?

Porsche came through on their promise for clarity, the right solution (new engine) and fair compensation. I didn’t expect the 8 year warranty but I did think we would get $2k/month for delay over the $4k fixed. That being said, it provides good peace of mind and I feel like they did right by their customers. Nicely done Porsche and thank you.
