Stop Sale on 718 GTS, Spyder & GT4

Anyone else tired of waiting and no updates???
I have an email from Porsche vp dated April 6th “from what we know now the engine replacement will be 3-6 months from now”
i emailed him today and said it’s been 3 months - no updates - how is this possible???? I guess they just don’t care I paid $108,000 for a new car not one sitting in Baltimore port sun and elements for who knows how long.
I am just about done I don’t need this car that bad. Porsche has set new standard for terrible customer service

The update was “no update at this time.” It’s obviously a corporate culture practice within Porsche and the dealers. They feel no obligation to provide updates and they don’t. The GM at my dealer said in no uncertain terms that communication in these situations can only lead to problems.

I too am very frustrated about the lack of status. Its been long enough that the “path” is understood and thus it should be communicated for whatever that path maybe. I have a lot of things that commits my time and attention and I need to understand what i give priority to. Its time to tell people what is going on

okee, some good news from Belgium.
I've put in my first 718 Spyder order in at june 2019 with the PDK option as must have.
This resulted in a production slot in March 2021, and my car was build on the 3rd of March 2021, just in the end of the faulty conrod batch.
The promise was made that in week 20 the conrods were coming, but when the engine was ready for the conrods, the bolts (and more) were missing in the shipment.
Second promise was for week 25, and in that week the engine was rebuild and put back in the car again.
The Spyder is currently at the detailer for the final steps, and the 1st takeoff will take place this week (probably around saturday).

One thing this experience has taught me is that Porsche and dealers will sell you a car and then not let you drive it off the lot and they won’t even give a reason why. No way I’d leave my new car at the dealer for more than 3 minutes after I signed the paperwork and owned the car. Detailing, paint correction, installation of accessories and anything else will be done by someone other than the dealer.
The detailing is especially done by independent detailer to inspect the car, not by me or dealer but by a specialist.
No bad feelings yet.

There is no update possibly because they don’t know themselves. Or no change from original estimate of 3-6 months.
So many moving parts they have to deal with. This is a logistical nightmare with all the supply chain constraints/ delay. I am sure they want to get it done and over with also.
They don’t want to overpromise and underdeliver. I am starting to think this could happen.
Better the other way around.

So in 3 months they know nothing new - shortage of components - time constraints- it is looking like longer delay - nothing???
really I find it hard to believe they don’t know - THEY just don’t care. I am done they win

What's really baffling is nobody outside of the few that took delivery before the Stop Sale have gotten new engines and only a few have posted that have had their rods replaced. Does anyone know of a single person who didn't take delivery that has gotten a new engine? Back in May I had hope I would have my car in July or August at the latest, now I'm not so sure.

Here is my hope. In the US the plan is to replace the engines at the port in almost all cases. I think Porsche has been building and shipping engines to the ports while they establish the space and the process to do the work. Radio silence from Porsche while all of this is happening behind the scenes. Soon, if not already, I hope the process of replacing them kicks into high gear and fixed cars start to leave port in late July / Aug / Sept. I’m assuming Porsche needs to have all the replacement engines built and shipped to port before the factory shuts down in August and they may already be there.
Fingers crossed that that are making progress but lacking in communication. I can see the logic if I remove myself as the emotional buyer. They told us 3 to 6 months and likely nothing has changed so there is nothing else to say. Logical. Rational. Unemotional. German

I think the vast majority of the undelivered stop-sale cars in the United States are at the dealers rather than the port.
Assuming the cars are at the ports, they’ve had months to establish space and processes to perform the swaps. Yet no one, not a single person, has said they had their car fixed at the port and delivered.
As for the August break, no one ever said they would ship the engines before the August break.
The reality is that they aren’t delivering engines. I think you need to settle in for a wait that will extend into Autumn and end in December.

I’m curious why you think the majority of undelivered cars are at dealers? You may be right, I have no idea. I know mine is in Houston and the dealer was unable to get Porsche to move it but I’m a data point of one
