Long day of driving…

Left later, and were rewarded with mist, light drizzle, and about 12 motorcyclists. It was great!

The entire run was devoid of traffic.

Glad some of y’all got out too.

Looks like the weather wasn’t as bad as anticipated.

Will reboot the effort contingent upon conditions.

I went to the LSRPCA Concours event in Kemah. Parked next to big brother GT3. 153 Porsches showed up. It was a great event.

Sorry I didn't figure out you were there. I was parked at the end of the main Porsche row.

On a side note, I ended up parked next to a Voodoo Blue Turbo S (driven by the dealership's owner). The colors were closer than I imagined but Shark Blue is just a little brighter. That's a Sapphire Blue a little further down.

There was a nice turnout and it was great meeting you!

Good showing at the hill country AutoX yesterday. Four 718 4.0s running. A 718 GT4 took over all 2nd (Cayman R took top spot). Three of us were in the top ten for the day. My first AutoX, good times!

You and I talked for a few minutes in the grid. I'm sorry I missed you being a Rennlister!

I was the one finishing in 2nd as 7SS. I had first all of the way until the R driver did a great 8th run and edged me out by a quarter second. It was a tight course and the GT4's power advantage just couldn't come into play enough to save me. He simply out-drove me.

That is a nicely specced Spyder you have! You did a great job of getting better and better times, climbing up to 5th in the PCA-ranked list. Absolutely fantastic for a first time out!

And that is another RL member @paffinity as number 88 in the other Shark Blue GT4 in the photos... coming in at 4th in the PCA list. He's had substantial track experience in his prior 981 GT4, but I believe that was his first autocross.

I'm not sure if the Python owner is on here too, but we had a brief chat and I think I recall it being his first autocross as well. Like you said, our 718 4.0 "team" did a great job of representing us.

Gah! Sorry.
I'll try to think to post here the next time one comes around. I keep an eye on the Hill Country PCA event calendar and was aware of it from there. There was a mix of both PCA and non-PCA participants.
I think the Hill Country PCA only does two autocrosses a year, Spring and Fall. There are other events on the calendar though. You can find it here:

I was rooting for you (and great GT4 as well)!! The guy in the Cayman R seemed to be pretty serious about the whole thing. He was running a dedicated wheel/tire set for the event.

Thanks for the compliments. You guys were pushing me with your times! Wish I would have been in yalls group so I could have picked your minds on the run a bit.

Would like to see the GT3RS time but it is not posted for some reason.

Thanks! Yeah, I never saw what tires the R was running. Why didn't I think to look!

I don't know why they don't show the GT3RS in the main spreadsheet. However, in the "Results" (not "Final Results") tab you can see his times as car 369. His best time with no cones was 44.18. I rode as an instructor with him on an early run. He seemed new to autocross. He did win the most awesome-sounding car award for most attendees I think, but probably not with the people with houses next to the event.

next autocross May 21

https://clubregistration.net/events/...event_id=12367

pretty light turnout so if anyone in the greater Houston/Austin/San Antonio area wants to try autocross
great open lot perfect for Boxsters and Caymans
plus bonus of Covered Parking

and it's an afternoon start so you don't have to get up at oh-dark early
